Stars Win Streak Comes to an End at Edgewood

Madison, Wis. – The Dominican University Women's Volleyball team took their 6-game win streak on the road to Edgewood to face the Eagles in a NACC Battle.

How it Happened:
-Edgewood started off on firing scoring a goal in the third minute of the match.
-DU responded shortly after firing two shots in the 14th minute. The first by Sophomore Tia Garr that missed the net and then Senior Sarah Borsellino that put a shot on frame that was saved by the keeper.
-The Eagles bolted on a counter kick after the Borsellino shot that resulted in a 2-0 lead for Edgewood 30 seconds after.
-Dominican found some shots in the 23rd and 24th minute of the match. The first was fired by Junior Mackenzie Cuddihy that was off target, and the second was collected by Senior Sierra Rioux that was saved by the Eagles goalie.
-Garr collected her second shot of the match in the 36th minute.
-Freshman Logan Shanks collected her first shot of the match in the 43rd minute.
-Edgewood outshot Dominican 9-6 in the first half.
-The Eagles started off right where they left off, scoring their third goal in the 49th minute of the game.
-DU found late life in the second half firing off multiple shots from the 78th minute on, none found the back of the net.
-Senior Kamryn Klinger put a shot on target, Shanks added two shots on target. Rioux collected another shot in the match. Senior Natalia Lopez fired her first shot of the match.
-Senior Sarah Matuszek made it back-to-back games with scoring a goal as she scored in the 90th minute. The goal was assisted Junior Meghan Wilhite.

  Shining Stars:
 -Senior Sarah Matuszek scored the lone goal of the match for the Stars. The Senior also collected 2 shots, one found the target.
-Junior Mackenzie Cuddihy led the team in shots with 3 of them, only one was on target.
-Senior Sierra Rioux added two shots in the match and one of them was on frame.
-Freshman Logan Shanks played 40 minutes of the bench and collected 3 shots. 2 of those shots were on target.
