River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Women's volleyball team hosted the Edgewood University Eagles for their second home game of three in a row.

How it Happened:
-Both sides traded mini runs to begin the match, with Dominican ultimately taking a 9-6 lead on a 3-0 run by Sophomore
Fabiana Pizzo.
-The Stars fell behind in the middle of the frame, 15-14, and could not recover, dropping the first set by a final of 25-16. Senior
Ellery Shea put away 2 kills and a block in the first.
-DU hung around with Illinois Tech in the second set, only trailing 9-7 after an ace by Pizzo.
-IIT went on an 8-0 run to extend their lead to 18-8 and did not look back as Dominican fell in the Set 2, 25-13. Pizzo tallied 6 digs in the middle frame.
-Set 3 began tight, with the Stars jumping out to a 7-6 lead after a kill by Freshman
Karolina Stonkus and an errant IIT attack.
-The third set would remain close at the midway point, as a kill by Junior
Kathryn Ksiezak gave DU a 16-15 lead.
-The Scarlet Hawks surged and took the third by a final score of 25-18.

-Senior
Ellery Shea paced the Stars with 7 kills and added 2 aces, a block, and 2 digs.
-Freshman
Karolina Stonkus dished 17 assists.
-Sophomore
Fabiana Pizzo led Dominican defensively, collecting 14 digs.

What's Next:
Dominican University Women's Volleyball is now 2-14 (1-5 NACC) for the season. The Stars will travel to Lakeland University on Saturday, October 18
th for a matinee match against the Muskies. First serve is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
