Plymouth, Wis. – The Dominican University Women's volleyball team made the trek to Plymouth to face off against the Muskies of Lakeland University on Saturday.
Result:
Dominican: 0
Lakeland: 3
How it Happened:
-After trading punches early, DU trailed Lakeland 7-6 in the first set.
-The Muskies began to pull away and sealed Set 1 over DU, 25-10. Senior
Ellery Shea recorded a kill and two aces in the opener.
-DU rebounded to start the second set, as they opened with a 3-1 lead.
-Both squads would trade side outs throughout Set 2, with the set tied at 16-16.
-A 5-0 run by Lakeland was too much to overcome for the Stars, who dropped the second set 25-21. Junior
Jillian Ross notched two kills and a block in the middle frame.
-The third set saw both teams knotted at 7-7 after a 4-0 run by Junior
Lily Broderick.
-The Stars were only able to side out twice after this point and fell in the third and final set, 25-9.

Ellery Shea led DU offensively with 7 kills and 3 aces.
-Junior
Jillian Ross collected 2 kills and a block
-Sophomore
Fabiana Pizzo recorded a team-high 15 digs in the effort.

What's Next:
Dominican University Women's Volleyball is now 2-15 (1-6 NACC) for the season. The Stars will continue on the road at Aurora University on Thursday, October 23
rd. The match is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.
