Men's Soccer Looks To Get Right against Lakeland

River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Men's Soccer team continues at home with an afternoon game against Lakeland on Saturday.

Series History vs. Lakeland:
All-Time Record / Streak: 20-0 / W20
-Dominican and Lakeland first played in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on 9/11/2004 (W, 3-1).
-The Stars have scored 102 goals in 20 games against the Muskies, which averages to 5.1 goals per match.
-DU's largest margin of victory over Lakeland was on 9/30/2017 (W, 16-0).
-Dominican is 10-0 at West Campus Field against the Muskies.
-The Stars and Muskies last matchup was on 10/2/2024 at Lakeland, with DU winning 4-0.

-Junior Tristen Banquil has been the focal point of DU's attack, notching the team lead in goals (5), shots (38), and shots on target (14).
-Sophomore Jonathan Almaguer has caught form in the midpoint of the season, as he is 2nd on the squad in goals with 3, second in in assists with 2, and has recorded 20 shots.
-Junior Ciaran Geraghty has anchored the backline for DU, leading the squad with 1260 minutes played.
-Freshman Cody Leyba has tallied 34 saves throughout the season.
-Senior Ryan Gutierrez has been a staple in the midfield with 2 goals and has started in all 14 matches. Gutierrez has 1097 minutes played.
 
Familiar Faces:
-Sophomore Nathan Lara is back to don the Navy and Gold as the leading goal scorer among returners from last season with 2. Lara appeared in 6 matches and notched a start during the 2024 campaign.
-Sophomore Jonathan Almaguer returns to the midfield for DU. Almaguer registered a goal and an assist in 14 appearances last season.
-Senior Brendan Gavin resumes his place as the holding midfielder for the Stars. Gavin posted 15 appearances and logged 776 minutes in 2024.
-Junior Ciaran Geraghty looks to step in as a permanent fixture in Dominican's back four after charting 16 appearances and a goal last season.
