River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Men's Soccer team continued their three-game homestand by hosting Lakeland University on Saturday.

How It Happened:
-Senior
Brendan Gavin had a shot denied by the Muskies' keeper in the first minute.
-In the 11
th minute, Sophomore
Jonathan Almaguer rifled a low shot from the top of the box but was denied from the back of the net.
-After DU won a corner in the 19
th minute, Junior
Ciaran Geraghty played the ball to Almaguer, who whipped a cross into the box and found the head of Junior
Nicholas Porada, who guided home his first of the season, giving Dominican a 1-0 lead.
-The Muskies equalized in the 25
th minute.
-Pressing to break the deadlock, Junior
Brenton DuBoise had a shot saved.
-Dominican and Lakeland went into the break knotted at 1-1.
-To open the second half, Porada had an effort on goal denied.
-In the 60
th minute, Porada scored his 2
nd of the game after being set up in the box by Junior
Tristen Banquil and Freshman
Vinni DaSilva.
-DaSilva had a shot on target saved in the 64
th minute.
-Freshman
Cody Leyba made his first save of the contest in the 73
rd minute, preserving the 2-1 Stars lead.
-DU was able to run out the rest of the clock and walk away with the win by a final of 2-1, snapping a four-game winless streak.

Nicholas Porada notched a brace for Dominican and added 3 shots on target.

Jonathan Almaguer recorded an assist and a shot on target.
-Freshman
Vinni DaSilva posted an assist and a shot on target.
