Men's Soccer Looks to Their Final Road Game of the Season on Saturday

Milwaukee, Wis. – The Dominican University Men's Soccer team travels to Wisconsin Lutheran looking to continue their momentum.

Series History vs. Wisconsin Lutheran:
All-Time Record / Streak: 18-0-2 / W7
- Dominican and Wisconsin Lutheran first played on 10/8/2005 in Milwaukee, Wis (W, 3-0).
-The Stars won the first 10 matches of this series and only gave up two goals in that stretch.
-Both ties between DU and WLC came after double overtime, in a 0-0 draw and a 2-2 draw.
-In the last 7 matches Dominican has scored 22 goals and have only given up 5 goals.
-The Stars are 10-0-1 on the road at Wisconsin Lutheran.
-DU scored 74 goals against the Warriors and average3.7 goals per match.
-Dominican is 16-0-1 inside the NACC against WLC.

-Head Coach Erick Baumann enters his 31st season at the helm of the Dominican Men's Soccer program. Baumann has amassed an impressive 463-119-50 (.772) record in that time.


Last Time Out:
-Dominican made it back-to-back wins with a 1-0 win over Benedictine University and now is 2-0-1 in last three matches.
-Freshman Rogelio Cisneros scored his first collegiate goal in what proved to be the difference maker for the Stars. Cisneros also added 4 shots on target.
-Freshman Vinni DaSilva registered 5 shots.
-Junior Nicholas Porada fired 3 shots, with 2 finding the target.
-Senior Ryan Gutierrez recorded a shot on target and played all 90 minutes.
-Freshman Cody Leyba and Freshman Joshua Memmelaar combined for the clean sheet


Star Gazing:
-Junior Tristen Banquil has been the focal point of DU's attack, notching the team lead in goals (5), shots (40), and shots on target (14).
-Sophomore Jonathan Almaguer caught form in the midpoint of the season, as he is 2nd on the squad in goals with 3, second in assists with 3, and has recorded 22 shots.
-Junior Ciaran Geraghty has anchored the backline for DU, leading the squad with 1350 minutes played.
-Freshman Cody Leyba has tallied 36 saves throughout the season.
-Senior Ryan Gutierrez has been a staple in the midfield with 2 goals and has started in all 15 matches. Gutierrez has 1187 minutes played.
 
Familiar Faces:
-Sophomore Nathan Lara is back to don the Navy and Gold as the leading goal scorer among returners from last season with 2. Lara appeared in 6 matches and notched a start during the 2024 campaign.
-Sophomore Jonathan Almaguer returns to the midfield for DU. Almaguer registered a goal and an assist in 14 appearances last season.
-Senior Brendan Gavin resumes his place as the holding midfielder for the Stars. Gavin posted 15 appearances and logged 776 minutes in 2024.
-Junior Ciaran Geraghty looks to step in as a permanent fixture in Dominican's back four after charting 16 appearances and a goal last season.


NACC Playoff Picture:
-Dominican has officially clinched a spot in the NACC Playoff currently holding the 6th spot in the standings. No one has clinched their seed for the tournament.
-The Stars currently have 19 points with Illinois Tech (20 points) and MSOE (22 points) are one win ahead DU.
-Wisconsin Lutheran is currently holding the final spot in the NACC playoff picture with 9 points in the conference. Marian and Lakeland are both on the heels of the Warriors with 8 points.

Scouting Report:
-Wisconsin Lutheran is 3-10-4 overall on the 2025 season with a 2-5-3 record in the NACC.
-The Warriors are 0-5-1 on their home turf.
-WLC had a 1-1 draw in their last matchup against Marian.
-Wisconsin Lutheran last won on October 18th in a 3-0 win over CUC.
-The Warriors have scored 16 goals on the season (0.94 goals per game) and has accumulated 168 shots over the year (9.9 shots per game).
