Four Second Half Goals Push the Stars Past The Cougars

River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Men's Soccer team finished their regular season hosting Concordia University Chicago at West Campus Field Wednesday afternoon.


Results:
Dominican: 4
Concordia Chicago: 0

How It Happened:
-Junior Tristan Banquil started the match off with 2 shots but was unable to get it past the Cougars goalie.
-In the 35th minute, freshman Enzo Cinque had the stands on their feet with a shot that hit the left woodwork.
-In the 43rd minute of the match, Concordia received a red card that put the Cougars down to 10 players for the remainder of the match.
-Cinque collected his second shot of the first half, which was saved by the Concordia goalie.
-Freshman Rogelio Cisneros got the Stars on the board in the 50th minute with help from sophomore Jonathan Almaguer.
-3 minutes later, freshman Vinni DaSilva adds on to Dominican's lead with the assist coming from junior Nicholas Porada.  
-In the 58th minute, DaSilva collected his second goal of the match with the pass coming from Junior Joshua Trujillo.
-The Stars were able to increase their lead with Enzo Cinque able to connect for his 4th goal of the season.  

Shining Stars:
-Freshman Vinni DaSilva had himself a day collecting with 2 goals and 5 shots.  
-Freshman Enzo Cinque added to his resume with a goal and 5 shots.
-Freshman Rogelio Cisneros continued firing, registering a goal and 3 shots.
-Junior Nicholas Porada and Sophomore Jonathan Almaguer both had an assist and a shot. -Freshman Cody Leyba and Freshman Joshua Memmelaar combined for 4 saves.

Assists: Porada, Trujillo, and Almaguer (1)
Shots: Cinque and DaSilva (5)
Shots on Goal: Cinque and DaSilva (3)
Saves: Memmelaar and Leyba (2)

What's Next:
Dominican University Men's Soccer improves to 7-7-4 (7-3-2 NACC) on the season. The Stars are currently in the 5th spot of the NACC but could move down to 6th. They are currently awaiting their first-round matchup that will be played on Saturday, November 1st.
