#5 Men's Soccer Gears Up for NACC Quarterfinal at #4 MSOE

Milwaukee, Wis. – The Dominican University Men's Soccer team travels to #5 MSOE to take on the Raiders in the NACC Tournament Quarterfinals.

Series History vs. MSOE:
All-Time Record / Streak: 22-8-1 / L2
-Dominican and MSOE first played on 9/24/2005 in River Forest, Ill (W, 3-0).
-The Raiders took down the Stars in their only meeting this season on September 17th (3-0).
-The Stars are 8-5 at MSOE.
-DU has accumulated 67 goals against the Raiders, which averages to 2.16 goals per match.

DU in Review:
-DU holds a 7-7-4 (7-3-2 NACC) record this season.
-Dominican finished the 2024 season with a 12-5-4 record, including going 8-1-3 in conference and 7-2-2 at home.
-The Stars notched the second seed in the NACC Tournament. After a thrilling 3-2 victory over Concordia Wisconsin in the Quarterfinals, DU stumbled in the semis, losing 5-0 to MSOE.
-Head Coach Erick Baumann enters his 31st season at the helm of the Dominican Men's Soccer program. Baumann has amassed an impressive 463-119-50 (.772) record in that time.


Last Time Out:
-A 44th-minute red card to CUC allowed the Stars to dominate in the second half on Wednesday, as Dominican cruised to a 4-0 win.
-Freshman Vinni DaSilva recorded his first career multi-goal game, scoring twice off the bench.,
-Freshman Rogelio Cisneros notched his 2nd goal in three games and added 2 shots on target.
-Freshman Enzo Cinque slid home his 4th goal of the season and fired 3 shots on target.
-Junior Nicholas Porada, Sophomore Joshua Trujillo, and Sophomore Jonathan Almaguer all registered assists in the win.

Star Gazing:
-Junior Tristen Banquil has been the focal point of DU's attack, notching the team lead in goals (5), shots (43), and shots on target (14).
-Sophomore Jonathan Almaguer caught form in the midpoint of the season, as he is 3rd on the squad in goals with 3, second in assists with 4, and has recorded 23 shots.
-Junior Ciaran Geraghty has anchored the backline for DU, leading the squad with 1530 minutes played.
-Freshman Cody Leyba has tallied 39 saves throughout the season.
-Senior Ryan Gutierrez has been a staple in the midfield with 2 goals and has started in all 18 matches. Gutierrez has 1453 minutes played.
 -Freshman Enzo Cinque is 2nd on Dominican with 4 goals, including a game-winner.
 -Junior Nicholas Porada has been a do-it-all forward for the Stars, as the Junior leads the unit with assists (5) and has put away 2 goals.

Familiar Faces:
-Sophomore Nathan Lara is back to don the Navy and Gold as the leading goal scorer among returners from last season with 2. Lara appeared in 6 matches and notched a start during the 2024 campaign.
-Sophomore Jonathan Almaguer returns to the midfield for DU. Almaguer registered a goal and an assist in 14 appearances last season.
-Senior Brendan Gavin resumes his place as the holding midfielder for the Stars. Gavin posted 15 appearances and logged 776 minutes in 2024.
-Junior Ciaran Geraghty looks to step in as a permanent fixture in Dominican's back four after charting 16 appearances and a goal last season.


NACC Playoff Picture:
-Dominican will head into the NACC Tournament as the #5 seed, their lowest position in the NACC table since 2022.
-The Stars were able to pass Illinois Tech in the table due to DU having a better result of #3 St. Norbert in the regular season.
-The winner of the Dominican/MSOE game will face the winner of #8 Marian vs. #1 Edgewood in the Semifinals on Tuesday, November 4th, with the strongest remaining seed hosting the game.

Scouting Report:
-Milwaukee School of Engineering is 11-5-3 overall on the 2025 season, with an 8-3-1 record in the NACC.
-The Raiders are 5-1-2 at home.
-MSOE has had a mixed run of form heading into the NACC Tournament, going 2-2-1 in its final five games of the season.
-The Raiders have scored 54 goals on the season (2.84 goals per game) and have accumulated 295 shots over the year (15.5 shots per game).
