River Forest, IL – Dominican University hosted the Rockford Regents in the Igini Sports Forum Thursday night.
Match 1:
Dominican: 0
Rockford: 3
How it Happened:
-The match opened with the Stars and the Regents going back and forth with the support of kills from Senior
Veronica Henkel and Junior
Kathryn Ksiezak.
-DU continued to keep it close with Ksiezak collecting another kill and a kill from senior
Ellery Shea.
-The Regents continued to fire away, with the Stars unable to come back in the first set.
-Rockford started the second set hot but had their point streak broken coming from Henkel's fourth kill of the match.
-Despite back-to-back kills from junior
Jaylynn Miller at the end of Set 2, Dominican lost the second 25-19.
-The Stars continued to fight in Set 3 with a kill by Shea, a kill by Henkel, and two aces from Senior
Lola Butler to get the upper hand on the Regents.
- DU kept trying to chip away, with Ksiezak collecting her 5
th and 6
th kill of the match.
-Rockford remained tough and defeated Dominican in the third, 25-18.

-Senior
Ellery Shea and junior
Kathryn Ksiezak led DU in attacking with 6 kills each.
-Freshman
Karolina Stonkus notched 19 assists and 3 service aces.
- Sophomore Fabianna Pizzo continued to be reliable defensively, getting herself 12 digs.

What's Next:
Dominican University Women's Volleyball is now 2-12 (1-3 NACC) for the season. The Stars will be back in action on Saturday, where they will host the Edgewood Eagles at 12pm in the Igini Sports Forum.
