River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Men's Basketball team was in the Igini Sports Forum for their second straight home game, as the Stars welcomed in Division Street rivals Concordia University of Chicago.

How it Happened:
-CUC opened with a 12-0 run to start the game until Sophomore
Braydon Murphy knocked down a layup to stop the bleeding.
-The Stars clawed themselves back into the game in the final 5 minutes of the first half, cutting a 13-point deficit to just 5 at the break. Freshman
Elijah Daugherty scored 4 points in this stretch, with Junior
Antony Fernandez hitting a big-time three.
-Murphy led DU in the first half with 10 points. Dominican shot 26% from the floor but 13 points off the bench.
-Senior
Dominic Crapia got DU going on the right foot in the second half, hitting a three twenty seconds into the half.
-CUC went on a run to push the lead back to double digits with thirteen to play.
-Sophomore
Emmanuel Fuller gave Dominican a much-needed boost with 6 straight points and 8 out of 10 in the middle of the second half. All of Fuller's points in this stretch came in the paint.
-The Stars continued to battle, but every run they went on, the Cougars countered it with a run of their own. DU could not cut the deficit below 7 in the final five minutes of the game.
-The Stars shot 45% from the floor in the second half and shot 36% from the floor in the entire game.
-Dominican collected 37 bench points.
Shining Stars:
-Freshman
Elijah Daugherty led the way for Dominican with 18 points in his 28 minutes played. Daugherty had 11 of his 18 points in the second half.
-Sophomore
Braydon Murphy has continued to be a monster on the floor for the Stars, putting up 14 points and 9 rebounds.
-Sophomore
Emmanuel Fuller had big minutes off the bench, scoring 9 points on 4-5 shooting. Fuller also picked up two blocks.
-Junior
Antony Fernandez was a +14 for DU off the bench, doing all the little things correctly and hitting two threes while collecting 5 rebounds and 2 steals in his minutes.

What's Next:
The Dominican University Men's Basketball team moves to 1-6 (1-3 NACC) on the season. The Stars will wrap up a three-game homestand on Saturday afternoon as they host non-conference opponent Adrian College. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m. and is the first game of a doubleheader in the Igini Sports Forum.
