Stars Fall in High Scoring Contest Against Bulldogs

River Forest, Ill. The Dominican University Men's Basketball team wrapped up a three-game homestand against the Bulldogs of Adrian College Saturday afternoon.

Results:
Dominican: 88
Adrian: 93

 How it Happened:
-Dominican was cooking early, starting off with a 7-0 run with buckets made by Senior Dominic Crapia, Sophomore Ismael Ndiaye and Sophomore Braydon Murphy.
-In the blink of an eye the Bulldogs tied the game up at 13. Freshman Elijah Daugherty hit a three at the halfway point of the half to put the Stars back up 3 and kickstart DU to end the first half.
-In the final 10 minutes of the first half, Dominican scored 17 points, carried by Sophomore Frank Paszkowski, who added 8 points in that stretch.
-The Stars went into the halftime break holding a 41-35 lead, with Daughtery, Crapia, Murphy, and Paszkowski all having 8 points.
-DU had the perfect start to the second half, pushing the lead out to 13 points with buckets from Paszkowski and Murphy.
-Adrian found their shot in the middle portion of the second half, cutting the Dominican lead to just 3 with under 11 minutes to play.
-Daugherty stopped the bleeding momentarily, hitting two free throws that gave the Stars a seven-point lead with 9 minutes to play.
-The Bulldogs took the lead with 4 minutes left in the game, but DU did not go without a fight, keeping it a one- to two-possession game in those final four minutes. Once the final buzzer went off, though, the Stars found themselves on the losing side against the Bulldogs.
- There were 7 lead changes in the game, and 8 times the game was tied between Dominican and Adrian.
