River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Women's Basketball team hosted the Maranatha Baptist University Sabercats for 'Tis the Week of Giving on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened:
-DU started the game off hot with a 10-0 run capped off by two free throws from Freshman
Kennedy Yost, causing Maranatha Baptist to call an early timeout.
-The Stars led 26-3 after the first quarter. Freshman
Eva Herbig paced Dominican with 5 points, with Junior
Teagan Dahl, Junior
Olivia Genthner, and Freshman
Emily Bouaphanh tacking on 4 points each.
-Dominican continued to pull away from the Sabercats in the second, as a three by Freshman
Xi Le O'Neill pushed the lead to 43-9 at the midpoint of the frame.
-A three from Sophomore
Maya Kasuboski before the end of the quarter put the Stars up 50-14 heading into the break. Dahl had 8 points in the second quarter.
-Junior
Kamila Gajkowska started the third quarter with four consecutive points to put Dominican up 54-14.
-Reinforcements came from the bench for DU, as 27 points were from the bench in the third quarter.
-Sophomore
Sophia Lohmeier kept up the offense for the Stars in the fourth, knocking down two shots from deep.
-DU closed out the game by a final score of 81-39.
-Saturday's win was the largest margin of victory for Dominican over an opponent since 12/14/2024 in an 80-33 win over the same Sabercats.
-Saturday proved to be a benchmark performance for the Stars this season, posting highs in points (81), field goals made (29), 3-point field goals made (10), rebounds (48), assists (17), and steals (32).
- The Stars shot 34.5% from the field, 27.8% from three, and 59.1% from the line.
