Dominican Falls in Return to Igini Sports Forum

River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Women's Basketball team was back in the Igini Sports Forum after three games away from home and hosted MSOE for their first NACC game.

 Results:
Dominican: 43
MSOE:66

 How it Happened:
 -Both teams were in a rock fight for the first two minutes of the game until Junior Lia Saunders got the Stars on the board.
-MSOE went on a run in the middle of the first quarter, but the Stars found themselves on the run to end the quarter with Saunders, Junior Aya Deiri, and Freshman Eva Herbig scoring points.
-Junior Olivia Genthner scored the first points of the second quarter with a two, and Junior Teagan Dahl hit a three right after to tie the game at 17.
-Dahl hit a three to end the half to cut the deficit to 33-24 at the break.
-MSOE came out of the break on fire, shooting 42.8% from the floor and broke the game open, with the Stars only scoring 8 points in the quarter.
-Dominican found their shot again in the fourth. Sophomore Maya Kasuboski and Freshman Jaylani Hernandez both knocked down a bucket in the quarter.

 Shining Stars:
 -Junior Teagan Dahl was the leading scorer for the Stars with 12 points; Dahl went 3-3 from downtown.
-Junior Lia Saunders had a great first quarter, scoring 6 of her 8 points in the first.
-Junior Olivia Genthner scored 6 points, knocking down both her free throws, and also recorded a block.
-Junior Aya Deiri picked up 2 steals, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 points.
-Freshman Eva Herbig scored 5 points and hit a three.

 What's Next:
 Dominican University Women's Basketball falls to 3-2 on the 2025-2026 season and 0-1 in NACC play. After just one game at home, the Stars will head back on the road for a conference game against the Eagles of Benedictine University. Tip-off between DU and BenU is set for 1:00 p.m.
