Men's Basketball Returns Home to Face Benedictine

River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Men's Basketball team starts a four-game homestand on Saturday afternoon against Benedictine.

Series History vs. Benedictine:
All-Time Record / Streak: 7-27 / L22
-Dominican and Benedictine first played on 1/2/2008 in Lisle, Ill. (L, 63-62)
-The Eagles doubled up the Stars last season, winning both contests by final scores of 88-66 and 94-81.
-DU's last win over BenU came at home on 1/23/2013 by a final score of 69-68.
-DU averages 66.06 points per game and is 5-11 at home against the Eagles.

DU in Review:
-The Stars are 0-5 (0-1 NACC) on the 2025-2026 season.
-DU is 0-1 at home this season.
-Dominican closed the 2024-2025 season with an 8-17 record, including going 5-13 in conference and 5-8 at home.
-The Stars missed out on the NACC Tournament last season and are looking to make it back into the playoff picture for the first time since the 2021-2022 season.
-Head Coach Troy Tonsil enters his 3rd season at the helm of the Men's Basketball program at Dominican. Tonsil has amassed a career record of 18-32.

 
Last Time Out:
-The Stars dropped their NACC opener at MSOE on Wednesday night by a final score of 96-71.
 -Sophomore Braydon Murphy dropped a career-high 21 points and added 7 rebounds and 2 blocks.
-Sophomore Frank Paszkowski notched 18 points and was 6-13 from three.
-Junior Antony Fernandez contributed 8 points and 2 steals.

Shining Stars:
-Senior Adrian Pelszynski has supplied solid minutes in the frontcourt for DU, as the Senior is 2nd on the squad in points per game (12.8), 3rd in three-point field goals made (4), and is 4th in total rebounds (18).
-Sophomore Braydon Murphy is averaging almost a double-double to start the season, leading the team in rebounds per game with 7.8, and is 2nd in points per game with 12.8
-Freshman Elijah Daugherty has provided a spark off the bench for Dominican this season. Daugherty is averaging 10.0 points per game and is shooting .372 from the field.
-Sophomore Frank Paszkowski leads the Stars in three-pointers made with 12 and is shooting .400 behind the arc while dropping 9.2 points per game.

Familiar Faces:
-Senior Dominic Crapia enters his 4th season as a reliable 3-point shooter for the Stars. Crapia shot .359 from beyond the arc in 2024-25 and is in the joint lead in returners with 28 3-pointers made.
-Sophomore Lucas Underwood had a successful start to his collegiate career last campaign, averaging 5.6 points per game and had 28 3-pointers made.
-Senior Adrian Pelszynski will return as an integral part of Dominican's frontcourt. Pelszynski averaged 13.2 minutes per game last year alongside 4.5 points per game.
-Sophomore Braydon Murphy looks to improve upon a strong freshman season, as the center chipped in 2.7 points per game alongside 2.5 rebounds per game in a more limited role.

-Benedictine is 2-4 (1-0 NACC) to start the 2025-2026 season.
-The Eagles are 0-2 away from home.
-BenU is amid a three-game losing streak, with their last win coming on 11/15/2025 against Aurora.
-The Eagles average 72.2 points per game to their opponents' 78.7.
