Dominican Falls in the Igini Sports Forum

River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University men's basketball team came back to the Igini Sports Forum for their first game at home in almost two weeks.

  Results
Rockford: 77
Dominican: 67

  How it Happened:
  -Fifth-year student Camron Scott brought the offensive spark in the first half scoring 10 of Dominican's 15 points.   
  -Fifth-year student Andre Bennett picked up where Scott left off scoring 6 of the next 10 points.
  -DU went into the break facing a 44-30 deficit while shooting 40% from the field and 11-16 from the charity stripe in the first half.   
  -The Stars came out the gate hot to start the second half, scoring the first six points. A bucket by Senior Daniel Nennig and two by Scott.
  -Dominican got the deficit all the way down to six points after Junior Dominic Crapia hit a three-point bucket with fourteen and a half to play.   
  -The Regents of Rockford found a stride and stretched their lead back out to 11.
  -DU did not go away without a fight cutting their deficit to just four after Graduate Student Robbie Taylor made a layup with 8 minutes to play.
  -Rockford had another run on their sideline getting their lead back to double-digits.
  -The Stars got their deficit back to 7 but the Regents had an answer at the free-throw line icing the game away.
-Dominican shot 39% from the floor in the second and only got to the free-throw line 9 times in the half.

  Shining Stars:
  -5th-year student Camron Scott led the Stars with 19 points on 6-10 shooting while going 6-8 from the charity stripe. Scott also grabbed 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 3 steals.
  -5th-year student Andre Bennett played 19 minutes off the bench and scored 15 points on 4-8 shooting.  
  -Junior Dominic Crapia added 11 points on 5-6 shooting from the free-throw line.

  What's Next:
  Dominican University Men's Basketball is 7-15 on the season with a 4-11 conference record. The Stars will be right back on the hardwood Saturday afternoon as they travel to Milwaukee for a date with MSOE. Tip-of between the Stars and the Raiders is set for 1:00 p.m.
