Rockford, Ill. – Dominican University Women's Basketball ventured to Rockford University to take on the Regents.

How it Happened:
-The Stars would fall in an early 0-9 hole, but Graduate Student
Melissa Gomez would lay-in DU's first points of the night.
-Sophomore
Aya Deiri and Sophomore
Lia Saunders would collect a bucket each but Dominican would trail at the end of the 1
st quarter, 6-14.
-Freshman
Danielle Washington would hit the Stars' first three of the evening, cutting the deficit to 9-18.
-DU would have a difficult time handling the ball throughout the remainder of the 2
nd and would head into half-time down 19-39.
-A pair of free throws and a three from Junior
Kamila Gajkowska would start Dominican off on a strong foot in the 3
rd.
-The Stars were head into the final quarter trailing 37-55. Deiri and Gomez combined for 15 points in the 3
rd quarter.
-DU would not complete the comeback and drop the contest by a final of 46-75.
-As a team, the Stars shot 29.8% from the field, 22.2% from three, and 72.7% from the line.

-Graduate Student
Melissa Gomez led the Stars with 14 points.
-Freshman
Danielle Washington potted 9 points and 3 rebounds.
-Sophomore
Aya Deiri collected 9 points and went a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line.
-Sophomore
Lia Saunders tallied 6 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block.

Dominican University Women's Basketball moves to 5-17 on the season and a 1-12 record in the conference. The Stars will be back at home on Saturday, February 15
th for Senior Night against the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Opening tip will be at 1:00 p.m.
