River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University women's basketball team hosted the Raiders of MSOE on Saturday afternoon for their senior day.

How it Happened:
-The Stars came out with a lot of energy in the first quarter scoring 22 points and holding a 22-15 lead. DU shot 60% from the floor in the first quarter and held the Raiders to 38% shooting.
-Freshman
Elizabeth McCabe was stellar all game but put up 6 points on 3-3 shooting in the first quarter. Dominican also hit their only three attempted in the quarter which was made by Junior
Kamila Gajkowska.
-The Stars would go cold in the second though, losing the quarter to the score of 19-4.
-DU would go into the break facing a 34-26 deficit.
-Dominican's offense came back to life in the third scoring 16 points on 6-11 shooting from the floor.
-Sophomore
Kaitlyn Milison found her shot scoring 5 points on 2-4 shooting in the third.
-The Stars hit another bump in the road only scoring 9 points in the fourth, but Freshman
Danielle Washington hit the first bucket of the fourth with a three-point jumper.
-Dominican won the bench point comparison to the score of 24-12.
Shining Stars:
-Freshman
Elizabeth McCabe was the leading scorer for Dominican and set a new career high for herself with 12 points. McCabe was not just scoring the ball as she set a new career high in the rebounding category as she was Dominican's leading rebounder with 7 boards. McCabe scored in every quarter for DU.
-Graduate Student
Melissa Gomez finished just shy of double-figures with 9 points. Gomez also collected 3 steals in the game.
-Sophomore
Lia Saunders tallied 7 points, 5, assists, and 4 rebounds.
-Sophomore
Kaitlyn Milison added 7 points to her name on 2-4 shooting and going 1-1 from downtown and 2-2 from the charity stripe.

What's Next:
Dominican University Women's Basketball moves to 5-18 on the season and a 1-13 record in the conference. The Stars will be back on the hardwood Wednesday night as they will travel to Edgewood College to face the Eagles. Tip-off between Dominican and Edgewood is set for 7:00 p.m.
