Stars Fall in High Scoring Affair

River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University men's basketball team was back in the Igini Sports Forum on Wednesday night hosting the Eagles of Edgewood College.

Results:

Dominican: 91


 How it Happened:
 -Dominican got on the scoreboard first with Fifth-Year Student Camron Scott hitting two free throws at the 18:41 mark of the first half. After the made free throws Edgewood went on a 12-1 run, making the score 12-3 with 14 to play.
 -The Stars brought the game back to within four points when Senior Terrell Taylor and Junior Adrian Pelszynski went on a 7-0 run for DU.   
 - T.Taylor tied the game up at 28 with 6:35 to play in the first half after hitting a three.
 -The Stars would take a two-point lead into the break, with the score being 44-42. Dominican shot 47% from the floor in the first half.
 -Dominican and Edgewood would start off the second half trading buckets for the first 4 minutes of the half.
 -The Eagles quickly then went on a 9-0 run getting the score to 64-55 in favor of Edgewood with 13 minutes to play.
 -T. Taylor answered the call and stepped up in a big way for DU getting the deficit to just three points after scoring 5 straight points.
-Fifth-Year Student Andre Bennett scored on back-to-back possessions tying the game up on both buckets.  
-The Eagles found another run and got the score back to a two-possession game at 76-70 with five minutes to play.
-Dominican tried to come back but every time the Stars were within three the Eagles had an answer.  
-DU shot 50% from the floor in the second half but 61% from the charity stripe.

-The Stars collected 58 bench points.  

 Shining Stars:
 -Senior Terrell Taylor has continued his stellar season adding another 23 points to his name on 10-15 shooting. T. Taylor also picked up 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal.    
 -Fifth-Year Student Andre Bennett collected 16 points on 5-8 shooting in his 18 minutes off the bench.
 -Senior Daniel Nennig scored 14 points on 5-6 shooting in tonight's contest. Nennig also grabbed 5 rebounds.
 -Fifth-Year Student Camron Scott found himself with double-figures scoring 10 points and going 4-4 from the free throw line. Scott led the team with 4 blocks.

 What's Next:
 The Dominican University men's basketball team will be back in action Saturday afternoon as the Spartans of Aurora University come to the Igini Sports Forum. Saturday afternoon will be Senior Day for the Stars.
