Dominican Falls at Lakeland

Plymouth, Wis. – The Dominican University Men's Basketball team traveled to Lakeland University for their second straight road game on Saturday afternoon.

  Results:
  Lakeland: 88
Dominican: 78

  How it Happened:
  -Junior Dominic Crapia started off hot for the Stars hitting his first two shots and getting DU out to a 6-0 lead with 17 to play.  
  -Junior Adrian Pelszynski came off the bench for Dominican and was cooking early and often. Pelszynski hit his first two shots of the game, one of them being a three-pointer.
  -Pelszynski did not stop there hitting back-to-back threes giving DU a 24-23 lead with 4:40 to play in the first half.  
  -The Stars would go into the half with a 36-33 lead, being led by Pelszynski who scored 17 points and went 5-5 from downtown.
  -Dominican shot 37% from the floor in the first half.  
  -Sophomore Dean O'Brien found a spark of offense for DU hitting back-to-back shots and getting the Dominican lead to 44-39 with 17 to play.
  -Lakeland found their stride and went on a 13-0 run, giving the Muskies a 56-49 lead with 12 to play.
  -Senior Terrell Taylor cut the Stars deficit to just three points after hitting a layup, making the score 71-68 with just under six minutes left in the game.
  -Graduate Student Robbie Taylor kept the game at one possession hitting two jumpers in the paint with two minutes to play.
-The Muskies iced the game at the free-throw line.
-Senior Terrell Taylor found his groove in the second half scoring 10 points on 4-8 shooting.
-Dominican shot 47% in the second half.
-The Stars led in the bench point category to the score of 42-18.

  Shining Stars:
  -Junior Adrian Pelszynski was Dominican's leading scorer with 24 points. 17 of them came in the first half and the Junior shot 6-9 from downtown in the game.
  -Senior Terrell Taylor has continued to be a factor offensively for DU, scoring 16 points in the game and goingt 4-4 from the charity stripe.
  -Junior Dominic Crapia added 14 points to his name on 6-11 shooting.  
  -Graduate Student Robbie Taylor collected 12 points on 5-10 shooting.  R. Taylor was the leading rebounder with 7 boards.

  What's Next:
  Dominican University Men's Basketball is 7-14 on the season with a 4-10 conference record. The Stars will be back in the Igini Sports Forum Wednesday night as the Regents of Rockford University come to town. Tip-off between DU and RU is set for 7:00 p.m.
