Milwaukee, Wis. – Dominican University Baseball wrapped up a four-game road stretch at MSOE on Saturday with an afternoon doubleheader.
Game 1 Results:
MSOE: 11
Dominican: 6
How it Happened:
-The Stars would strike first in the top of the second inning after Freshman
Marco Stawski scored on a fielder's choice during an at-bat by Senior
Michael Christopher.
-MSOE answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second.
-In the top of the third inning, Senior
Braiden Galvin took a walk with the bases loaded, scoring Junior
Matthew Earley and tying the game at 2-2.
-The Raiders held a 8-2 lead by the end of the fifth inning.
-Christoper collected his second RBI of the game in the top of the sixth after driving a double to center field which scored Senior
Gavin Zappe. Christoper then scored on a passed ball, cutting the MSOE lead down to 8-4.
-MSOE tacked on another two runs during the bottom of the sixth to extend their lead to 10-4.
-In the top of the seventh inning, Junior
Niko Krecu hit a two-run shot to left field, scoring Junior
Matthew Earley.
-The Raiders added another run in the bottom of the eighth inning and would walk away with the victory in Game 1 by a final of 11-6.

Quinton Schwartz went 3-5 with three singles.
-Junior
Matthew Earley finished 2-5 with 2 runs scored.

Michael Christopher was 2-4 with 2 RBIs and a run scored.

How it Happened:
-In the top of the first inning, Junior
Niko Krecu hit his second two-run home run of the day, this time scoring Junior
Zach Helein.
-By the end of the first, MSOE would tie the game up at 2-2.
-MSOE closed out the bottom of the fifth inning with an 8-2 lead.
-Junior
Matthew Earley put the Stars back on the board with an RBI sacrifice fly, scoring Sophomore
Ty Phillips.
-Krecu then knocked in his third RBI of the game with a double that brought home Helein, making the score 8-4 in favor of the Raiders.
-MSOE added onto their lead in the bottom of the sixth, extending their lead to 10-4.
-The Raiders posted 4 more runs in the bottom of the seventh and defeated DU in Game 2, 14-4.

Dominican University Baseball falls to 11-16 on the year and 4-10 in conference play. The Stars will be back at home for a non-conference standalone game against Loras College on Thursday, April 17
