Milwaukee, Wis. – The Dominican University Softball team is back on the road for their second straight road series.
Game 1 Results:
Dominican: 10
Wisconsin Lutheran: 1
How it Happened:
-The Stars offense got going early with Junior
Ryley Davis hitting an RBI single to center field that brought in her younger sister Freshman
Raegyn Davis in the top of the first inning.
-Dominican doubled their lead in the third with Freshman
Isabella Olmos hitting an RBI triple to right center field that scored Senior
Liliana Santoyo.
-The Warriors cut the DU lead in half by scoring a run on two hits in the fourth inning.
-The Stars wanted no part of a close game and put up 6 runs on 6 hits in the fifth inning.
-Santoyo brought home the first run of the inning scoring Freshman
Sara Cornell on an RBI single to left center field. Ry. Davis followed it up with her second RBI of the game on a double to right field scoring Santoyo. Junior
Paytin Salfi brought home the third run of the inning on an RBI single to right field that scored Freshman Tamiah Jefferson. Senior
Priscylla Rutter came in for a pinch-hit opportunity and delivered in a big way hitting a 2 RBI triple down the right field line that scored Junior
Leilani Guzman and Sophomore
Kailee Diaz Randall. Freshman
Madisen Butler also came in clutch with a pinch-hit opportunity hitting an RBI single to center field that scored Senior
Hanna Voegtle.
-Dominican was not satisfied with their 8-1 lead and added 2 more runs in the 7
th. Freshman
Kayla Amormino brought in those two runs on a 2 RBI single to center field that scored Guzman and Sophomore
Emme Slavens.
Shining Stars:
-Senior
Emma Woodhouse bounced back with a dominant performance going 6 innings while collecting 4 strikeouts and only allowing 1 earned run. Woodhouse improved her record to 11-4 on the season.
-Freshman
Hannah Richards came into the game in the 7
th and shut the door on the Warriors striking out the side.
-Junior
Ryley Davis was at the front of the DU offense in game one going 2-4 with 2 RBIs, and a double.
-Senior
Priscylla Rutter has continued to produce in the pinch-hit role for the Stars going 1-1 with 2 RBIs and a triple.
-Senior
Liliana Santoyo is destroying softballs going 3-4 with an RBI, 2 stolen bases, and 3 runs scored.
-Freshman
Kayla Amormino came in clutch in her at-bat of the game going 1-1 with 2 RBIs.
-Junior
Paytin Salfi went 2-3 with an RBI.

How it Happened:
-Game two started as an old-fashioned pitcher's duel with Freshman
Rhiannon Rubio not allowing a hit until the third inning and did not allow a hit in four of the six innings she pitched in.
-The Stars offense caught fire in the top of the fourth inning scoring 4 runs on 5 hits.
-Senior
Priscylla Rutter brought home the first run of the game on an RBI single to center field that scored Freshman
Isabella Olmos. Freshman
Raegyn Davis followed it up with a single to right field that scored Rutter on an error by the right fielder. Freshman
Madisen Butler made it three runs in three batters with an RBI single up the middle that scored Rae. Davis. Freshman
Sara Cornell brought home the final run of the inning on an RBI single to shortstop that scored Sophomore Tresea Scanlon.
-Dominican added two more runs in the 5
th with Rutter delivering a single to left field that scored Olmos on a bad throw from the left fielder. Butler brought home Rutter on a single to left field that brought the DU lead to 6-0.
-WLC got on the board in the 5
th inning scoring a run on a hit.
-DU got that run right back with Rutter hitting an RBI single to left field that scored Cornell.
-Junior
Elise Gamino came in relief to close out the game and got three outs to the left side of the infield giving the Stars a 7-1 win.
Shining Stars:
-Senior
Priscylla Rutter was the focal point of the Stars offense going 4-4 with 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored.
-Freshman
Madisen Butler had one of her best games in a Stars uniform going 3-4 with 2 RBIs.
-Freshman
Rhiannon Rubio found her stride in the circle again going 6 innings only allowing an earned run and added 4 strikeouts to her name.
-Freshman
Sara Cornell continued swinging a hot bat going 3-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
-Freshman
Isabella Olmos resumed her fantastic freshman season going 2-4 with 2 runs scored, and a triple.
-Junior
Elise Gamino was great in her relief outing getting all three batters out in her one-inning of work.

What's Next:
Dominican University Softball moves to 21-7 on the season with a 12-2 record in the NACC. The Stars will be right back in action Tuesday evening with a doubleheader against the Regents of Rockford University at the Stadium at the Parkway Bank Sports Complex. The first pitch between DU and RU is set for 4:00 p.m.
