River Grove, Ill. – Dominican University Softball traveled to Triton College to take on the Inferno of Alverno College on Saturday.

How it Happened:
-DU started on the right foot in the top of the first, which began with a leadoff double by Senior
Priscylla Rutter. A single by Senior
Liliana Santoyo then drove in Rutter. After Santoyo stole second, Freshman
Raegyn Davis doubled to left, bringing home Santoyo. Junior
Ryley Davis then brought in Ra. Davis and gave Dominican a 3-0 lead after the top of the first.
-The Stars pushed their advantage to 4-0 after a single by Rutter scored Sophomore
Kailee Diaz Randall.
-The floodgates opened for the DU offense at the top of the third, starting with a solo shot by Freshman
Isabella Olmos. Following Olmos' homer, a single by Diaz Randall scored Junior
Leilani Guzman, who pinch ran for Junior
Paytin Salfi. Diaz Randall, and Freshman
Sara Cornell then both scored off a single by Rutter. The offense kept flowing for Dominican, as a triple by Santoyo brought in two more runs. To cap the inning, Ra. Davis brought home Santoyo, meaning when the dust settled, the Stars held an 11-0 advantage.
-In the bottom of the third, Senior
Emma Woodhouse collected a 1-2-3 inning to keep Alverno at bay.
-Freshman
Tori Tristan notched her first collegiate hit in the top of the fourth inning.
-DU claimed victory in Game 1 by a final score of 11-0 at the end of five innings.
Shining Stars:
-Senior
Emma Woodhouse picked up her 17
th win of the season in 4 innings of work. The Senior allowed just 1 hit in route to the shutout while tallying 4 strikeouts.
-Senior
Liliana Santoyo finished 2-2 with 3 RBIs, a triple, and 2 runs scored.
-Senior
Priscylla Rutter went 3-4 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
-Freshman
Isabella Olmos was 2-3 with a solo home run.

How it Happened:
-Dominican's offense sparked early in the top of the first with Freshman
Raegyn Davis driving home Senior
Priscylla Rutter.
-The Stars pushed their advantage to 2-0 in the top of the second, with Freshman
Madisen Butler scoring on a passed ball.
-In the top of the third, DU went back on the attack, as a single by Butler led to Ra. Davis scoring. Senior
Hanna Voegtle then singled to right, scoring Junior
Ryley Davis. Sophomore
Alyssa Craig then picked up an RBI after bringing Butler home with a single. The Stars took their 5-0 lead into the bottom of the third.
-Alverno answered with a run in the next half inning.
-After Senior
Liliana Santoyo reached base on an error, Ra. Davis launched a sacrifice fly out to center, bringing in Santoyo from third, and gave Dominican a 6-1 advantage.
-DU wanted more in the top of the fifth, as Santoyo drew a walk that brought in a run due to the bases being loaded. Freshman
Kayla Amormino then scored on a fielder's choice during an at-bat by Ra. Davis. Following this, Freshman
Isabella Olmos sent a double into right field, scoring Senior
Gillian Czubernat. Ry. Davis then finished the inning with a 2 RBI single into center, ultimately pushing the Stars' advantage to 11-1.
-Sophomore
Liberty Rivard entered in relief for Freshman
Rhiannon Rubio and closed out Game 2 in the fifth, with Dominican winning 11-1.
Shining Stars:
-Freshman
Rhiannon Rubio notched her 9
th win of the season and had a strong outing, throwing 4.0 innings while only allowing 4 hits and a run.
-Senior
Hanna Voegtle was 2-2 with an RBI, a run scored, and a walk.
-Freshman
Raegyn Davis had 3 RBIs in the win.

Liliana Santoyo finished 1-4 with an RBI, walk, and run scored.

What's Next:
Dominican University Softball improved to 30-8 overall on the season and is 19-3 in the NACC. The Stars will close out the regular season at Concordia Chicago on Saturday, May 3
rd in a doubleheader against the Cougars. The first pitch for Game 1 is slated for 11:00 a.m.
