Milwaukee, Wis - Dominican University Women's Volleyball began their NACC schedule at the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Thursday.

How it Happened:
-The Stars got off to a quick start, taking an 8-1 lead over the hosts with 4-0 runs by Sophomore
Fabiana Pizzo and Senior
Lola Butler.
-Clutch blocking down the stretch of the first set by Junior
Kathryn Ksiezak led Dominican taking the opening frame 25-23.
-MSOE bounced back in a big way and took the second set 25-9. Pizzo had 2 aces in the set.
-DU started strong in Set 3, jumping out to a 10-4 lead after kills by Senior
Ellery Shea and Freshman
Karolina Stonkus.
-The Raiders stormed back with an 8-0 run and eventually won the third set 25-16.
-The Stars looked to push the match to five, taking a 3-2 lead at the start of the fourth after kills by Shea and Butler.
-MSOE went on a handful of runs in the middle of Set 4 and took a 15-5 lead.
-Dominican ran out of time in the fourth set, falling in the final frame 25-11.
Shining Stars:
-Senior
Ellery Shea posted a team-leading 8 kills while adding 7 digs and 2 blocks.
-Senior
Veronica Henkel notched 6 kills, an ace, and 8 digs.
-Freshman
Karolina Stonkus recorded 18 assists in the defeat.
-SophomoreÂ
Fabiana Pizzo collected a career-high 28 digs.

What's Next:
Dominican University Women's Volleyball moves to 1-7 on the season. The Stars will be back in action at the Kalamazoo Tri Match on Saturday, September 27
th. DU faces Albion College at 1:00 p.m. EST before taking on the hosts Kalamazoo at 4:00 p.m. EST later that same afternoon.
