River Forest, Ill. – Dominican University Women's Soccer hosted the Vikings of North Park University for their second home game of the season.

How it Happened:
- The Stars got the first shot of the game with Senior
Natalia Lopez putting a shot on the target in the 9
th minute of the game.
-DU had two more chances in the first half with Senior
Sarah Borsellino and Junior
Mackenzie Cuddihy, who both had shots on target but neither found the back of the net.
-Freshman
Logan Shanks scored the first Dominican University goal of the season, and it was also Shanks's first collegiate goal in the 33
rd minute of the game. The assists were credited to Freshman
Liliana Arechiga and Cuddihy.
-The Stars would go into the halftime break with a 1-0 lead and a total 9 shots in the first half, compared to the Vikings' 1.
-North Park found the equalizer in the 58
th minute.
-The score remained 1-1 until the 80
th minute when DU won a free kick in the final third. Lopez stepped up to take the free kick and buried it off the far side netting to give Dominican a late 2-1 lead.
-Sophomore
Meadow Pratt made two huge saves in the 84
th minute to hold the lead for the Stars.
- 2-1 would be the final, with DU outshooting NPU 16 to 6. Dominican also had 6 corner kicks compared to North Park's 0.
Shining Stars:
-Senior
Natalia Lopez scored the game-winning goal for the Stars in the 80
th minute off a free kick. Lopez had 4 total shots, 2 of them being on target in her 90 minutes of play.
-Freshman
Logan Shanks was a huge spark plug off the bench for DU, scoring her first collegiate goal. Shanks had 2 shots; both of them hit the target, and one of them found the back of the net.
-Senior
Sarah Matuszek collected 2 shots in the game, with both of them being on goal.
-Senior
Sierra Rioux added 4 shots this afternoon, and 2 of them found the target.
-Junior
Mackenzie Cuddihy notched one of the assists in the first goal. Cuddihy also had a shot on target in the match.
-Freshman Lilana Arechiga collected her first collegiate assist in the first goal of the game.
-Sophomore
Meadow Pratt made her first start in net of the season and collected 4 saves.
