Dominican falls to Eureka in Four-set match

River Forest, Ill - Dominican University Women's Volleyball hosted a match against Eureka College Tuesday night.

Match 1:
Dominican: 1
Eureka: 3

How it Happened:
-The match started with a 4-point run by DU with a kill by Senior Lola Butler and an ace by sophomore Fabiana Pizzo.
-Dominican got back on top with back-to-back kills by Seniors Veronica Henkel and Ellery Shea. With Shea getting the set-ending kill.
-DU came back in the beginning of the set to tie it at 3 from a kill by Henkel.
-Eureka went on a 16-7 run in the second set, with DU attempting to come back with another kill from Henkel and a kill from Pizzo, her first one of the matches.
- To start the 3rd set, the Stars went on a 4-point run again, starting with a kill from Henkel, 2 errors from the Red Devils, and a kill from Junior Jaylynn Miller.
 -DU was on a run at the end of set 3 with another kill from Shea and a kill from Freshman Karolina Stonkus but was unable to match Eureka.
- Set 4 began with a back-and-forth rally between the Stars and the Red Devils. The Red Devils went on a 5-point run with a kill from Shea ending the streak. Shea then went on to collect back-to-back kills to add to her resume.
- Junior Kathryn Ksiezak collected herself a kill in DU's last attempt to get an upper hand over Eureka, but the Stars were unable to finish it.

Shining Stars:
-Sophomore Fabiana Pizzo was a defense machine, collecting 17 digs.
-Senior Ellery Shea got herself 13 kills with 9 digs on the day. Shea also recorded a solo block.
 -Senior Veronica Henkel helped her team with 11 kills and 11 digs with 2 service aces.

What's Next:
Dominican University Women's Volleyball moves to 1-10 (0-1 NACC) on the season. The Stars look to prepare for their second NACC match against Benedictine University in the Igini Sports Forum at 6pm.
