Men's Soccer Wraps Up Home Stand against Lake Forest

River Forest, Ill. – Dominican University Men's Soccer finishes opening home stretch against Lake Forest College on Saturday.

Series History vs. Lake Forest College:
All-Time Record / Streak: 6-0-1 / T1
Dominican first played Lake Forest on the road on 9/16/2002 (W, 2-1).
The Stars drew with the Foresters in Lake Forest last season on 9/21/2024 (1-1).
DU in Review:
-DU holds an 0-1-1 record this season.
-Dominican finished the 2024 season with a 12-5-4 record, including going 8-1-3 in conference and 7-2-2 at home.
-The Stars notched the Second seed in the NACC Tournament. After a thrilling 3-2 victory over Concordia Wisconsin in the Quarterfinals, DU stumbled in the semis, losing 5-0 to MSOE.
-Head Coach Erick Baumann enters his 31st season at the helm of the Dominican Men's Soccer program. Baumann has amassed an impressive 463-119-50 (.772) record in that time.

Star Gazing:
-Junior Tristen Banquil leads the Stars in goals (1), shots (6), and shots on target (4).
-Sophomore Travis Fowler and Junior Ciaran Geraghty have anchored the back line for the Stars, playing all 180 minutes of the season thus far.
-Freshman Cody Leyba has tallied 6 saves throughout the season.
 
Familiar Faces:
-Sophomore Nathan Lara is back to don the Navy and Gold as the leading goal scorer among returners from last season with 2. Lara appeared in 6 matches and notched a start during the 2024 campaign.
-Sophomore Jonathan Almaguer returns to the midfield for DU. Almaguer registered a goal and an assist in 14 appearances last season.
-Senior Brendan Gavin resumes his place as the holding midfielder for the Stars. Gavin posted 15 appearances and logged 776 minutes in 2024.
-Junior Ciaran Geraghty looks to step in as a permanent fixture in Dominican's back four after charting 16 appearances and a goal last season.
Scouting Report:
-Lake Forest opened the 2025 season with a 4-0 win over Saint Mary's Minnesota at home on Saturday, August 30th.
-The Foresters travel to NAAC-foe Benedictine on Thursday, September 4th.
-Lake Forest averaged 2.00 goals per game compared to their opponents' 1.71 last season.
-The Duhawks mustered 13.8 shots per game while their opponents averaged 9.9 in 2024.
