Men's Basketball Looks Ahead to Aurora

River Forest, Ill. – Dominican University Men's Basketball returns to action after a weekend off at home against Aurora on Wednesday night.

Series History vs. Aurora:
All-Time Record / Streak: 7-29 / W1
-Dominican and Aurora first played on 12/1/2007 in Aurora, Ill. (L, 64-60).
-The Stars split the season series against the Spartans last season, which included a 101-97 overtime victory on Senior Day.
-Dominican's longest win streak over Aurora spanned two games from 1/4/2020 – 1/15/2020.
-DU averages 72.5 points per game against the Spartans and is 5-12 at home.

DU in Review:
-The Stars are 1-16 (1-9 NACC) on the 2025-2026 season.
-DU is 1-8 at home this campaign.
-Dominican closed the 2024-2025 season with an 8-17 record, including going 5-13 in conference and 5-8 at home.
-The Stars missed out on the NACC Tournament last season and are looking to make it back into the playoff picture for the first time since the 2021-2022 season.
-Head Coach Troy Tonsil enters his 3rd season at the helm of the Men's Basketball program at Dominican. Tonsil has amassed a career record of 18-32.

 
Last Time Out:
 -The Stars could not keep pace with the high-flying Concordia Wisconsin offense last Wednesday, falling by a final score of 91-75.
 -Sophomore Braydon Murphy totaled 17 points and 14 rebounds. This marked Murphy's third double-double of the season, and the Sophomore added his name one again to the single-game record book for rebounds.
-Freshman Elijah Daugherty poured in 16 points and 4 assists.
-Sophomore Frank Paszkowski notched 12 points, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

Shining Stars:
-Sophomore Braydon Murphy is averaging almost a double-double this season, leading the team in rebounds per game with 8.6, and is 4th in points per game with 11.9. Murphy also leads DU in blocks with 25 and is 2nd in assists with 30. The Senior is 2nd in the NACC in blocks and is 5th in the conference in rebounds per game.
-Freshman Elijah Daugherty has provided a spark off the bench for Dominican this season. Daugherty is averaging 13.9 points per game and is shooting .423 from the field.
-Sophomore Frank Paszkowski leads the Stars in three-pointers made with 48 and is shooting .348 behind the arc while dropping 14.4 points per game. Paszkowski leads the conference in three-pointers made.
-Sophomore Ismael Ndiaye Matheu has paced the Stars in playmaking, tallying a team-high 34 assists on the season.
-Senior Adrian Pelszynski rounds out the top five in scoring for DU, dropping an average of 8.4 points per game.

Familiar Faces:
-Senior Dominic Crapia enters his 4th season as a reliable 3-point shooter for the Stars. Crapia shot .359 from beyond the arc in 2024-25 and is in the joint lead in returners with 28 3-pointers made.
-Sophomore Lucas Underwood had a successful start to his collegiate career last campaign, averaging 5.6 points per game and had 28 3-pointers made.
-Senior Adrian Pelszynski will return as an integral part of Dominican's frontcourt. Pelszynski averaged 13.2 minutes per game last year alongside 4.5 points per game.
-Sophomore Braydon Murphy looks to improve upon a strong freshman season, as the center chipped in 2.7 points per game alongside 2.5 rebounds per game in a more limited role.  

Scouting Report:
-Aurora is 15-3 (10-1 NACC) on the 2025-2026 season.
-The Spartans are 8-2 away from home.
-Aurora is amid a 13-game win streak, their longest since at least 2011-2012.
-The Spartans average 87.0 points per game, shoot .506 from the field, .361 from three, and average 39.7 rebounds per game.
