River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Men's Basketball team was back in action after a week off to host Aurora University on Wednesday night.
Results:
Dominican: 61

How it Happened:
-Dominican got the first points of the game with Sophomore
Braydon Murphy earning the bucket a minute and thirty seconds into the game.
-Sophomore
Frank Paszkowski collected the next two baskets for DU hitting a three and then a pull-up jumper on the wing.
-The Stars carried a 6-point lead into the second media time out with freshman
Elijah Daugherty and
Joseph Jones making free-throws.
-The Spartans tied the game up at 15 going on a 6-0 run before Daugherty knocked down two free throws to end the scoring drought for DU.
-AU kept the momentum rolling to carry a 25-20 lead with under five minutes to play in the first half.
-Dominican would tie the game up at 25 before being outscored 8-3 in the final three and half minutes of the first half.
-The Stars shot 80% from the free throw line in the first half with Daugherty leading the way in points with 8.
-Aurora started the second half on a 9-2 run that gave the Spartans a 42-30 lead two minutes into the half.
-DU found their stride before the first media timeout with Junior
Dean O'Brien earning a tough bucket in the paint. Paszkowski followed it up by making two free throws. Senior
Dominic Crapia knocked down a three to make the score 46-40 with fifteen and half to play.
-AU pushed their lead back out to 12 with a 10-4 run making the score 56-44 with 11 minutes remaining. The Spartans did not stop their getting their lead to 19 two minutes later.
-Dominican chipped their way back into the game with 6 minutes left, with Paszkowski hitting two threes, Freshman
Emmanuel Fuller, Daugherty and Murphy all going two-for-two from the charity stripe.
-Aurora was able to put the nail in the coffin with a 15-3 run.
Shining Stars:
-Sophomore
Frank Paszkowski led the way for the Stars, scoring 22 points on 9-15 shooting and 3-6 from downtown.
-Sophomore
Braydon Murphy earned himself 12 points, 3 steals, 3 blocks, an assist and 3 rebounds.
-Freshman
Elijah Daugherty found his way into double-figures with 10 points and 2 steals.

What's Next:
The Dominican University Men's Basketball team moves to 1-17 (1-10 NACC) on the season. The Stars will wrap a four-game homestand Saturday afternoon as the Edgewood University Eagles come to the Igini Sports Forum. Tip-off between the Stars and the Eagles is set for 1:00 p.m.
