Men's Basketball Hosts Edgewood for a Black Out on Saturday

River Forest, Ill. – Dominican University Men's Basketball will close out a four-game homestand against Edgewood in a Black Out on Saturday.

Series History vs. Edgewood:
All-Time Record / Streak: 7-19 / L2
-Dominican and Edgewood first played on 12/15/2007 in Madison, Wis. (L, 81-75).
-The Stars dropped both contests against Edgewood last season, including a two-point loss at home on 2/19/2025 (93-91).
-Dominican's longest win streak over Edgewood spanned three games from 1/23/2016 – 1/21/2017.
-DU averages 68.0 points per game against the Eagles and is 3-10 at home.

DU in Review:
-The Stars are 1-17 (1-10 NACC) on the 2025-2026 season.
-DU is 1-9 at home this campaign.
-Dominican closed the 2024-2025 season with an 8-17 record, including going 5-13 in conference and 5-8 at home.
-The Stars missed out on the NACC Tournament last season and are looking to make it back into the playoff picture for the first time since the 2021-2022 season.
-Head Coach Troy Tonsil enters his 3rd season at the helm of the Men's Basketball program at Dominican. Tonsil has amassed a career record of 18-32.

 
Last Time Out:
 -The Stars fell to a solid Aurora squad on Wednesday night by a final score of 83-61.
 -Sophomore Frank Paszkowski totaled a team-high 22 points and was 9-15 from the floor.
-Sophomore Braydon Murphy notched 12 points alongside 3 blocks and 3 steals.
-Freshman Elijah Daugherty posted 10 points and was a perfect 6-6 from the line.


NABL Showcase:
 -Before Saturday's games, Dominican will host the National Ability Basketball League (NABL).
 -The NABL is an organization dedicated to pioneering equal treatment for intellectually disabled athletes by expanding available athletic opportunities.
-The game will take place at 10:00 a.m., and all fans in attendance are encouraged to wear Black in solidarity with NABL's mission.

Shining Stars:
-Sophomore Braydon Murphy is averaging almost a double-double this season, leading the team in rebounds per game with 8.3, and is 4th in points per game with 11.9. Murphy also leads DU in blocks with 28 and is 2nd in assists with 31. The Senior is 1st in the NACC in blocks and is 5th in the conference in rebounds per game.
-Freshman Elijah Daugherty has provided a spark off the bench for Dominican this season. Daugherty is averaging 13.7 points per game and is shooting .415 from the field.
-Sophomore Frank Paszkowski leads the Stars in three-pointers made with 51 and is shooting .354 behind the arc while dropping 14.8 points per game. Paszkowski leads the conference in three-pointers made.
-Sophomore Ismael Ndiaye Matheu has paced the Stars in playmaking, tallying a team-high 34 assists on the season.
-Senior Adrian Pelszynski rounds out the top five in scoring for DU, dropping an average of 8.4 points per game.

Familiar Faces:
-Senior Dominic Crapia enters his 4th season as a reliable 3-point shooter for the Stars. Crapia shot .359 from beyond the arc in 2024-25 and is in the joint lead in returners with 28 3-pointers made.
-Sophomore Lucas Underwood had a successful start to his collegiate career last campaign, averaging 5.6 points per game and had 28 3-pointers made.
-Senior Adrian Pelszynski will return as an integral part of Dominican's frontcourt. Pelszynski averaged 13.2 minutes per game last year alongside 4.5 points per game.
-Sophomore Braydon Murphy looks to improve upon a strong freshman season, as the center chipped in 2.7 points per game alongside 2.5 rebounds per game in a more limited role.  

Scouting Report:
-Edgewood is 2-15 (2-9 NACC) on the 2025-2026 season.
-The Eagles are 1-8 away from home.
-Edgewood is off the heels of back-to-back losses to Concordia Wisconsin and St. Norbert.
-The Eagles average 68.2 points per game, shoot .395 from the field, .343 from three, and average 33.2 rebounds per game.
