River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Women's Basketball team returned to the Igini Sports Forum from a two-game road stretch to host the Eagles of Edgewood University on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened:
-Freshman
Kennedy Yost started the game off knocking down a three on Dominican's opening possession. Yost scored the first 5 points for the Stars, scoring on a tip-in layup off the miss from Junior
Teagan Dahl.
-The Eagles then built a lead out to 12-5 before Junior
Lia Saunders answered with a 3 to stop the momentum of Edgewood.
-Edgewood carried a 19-13 lead after ten minutes of play. The Eagles shot 60% from three in the first quarter, with the Stars shooting 26% from the floor.
-DU started off on the right foot, though, in quarter two with a 9-2 run to take a 24-22 lead with just under 6 minutes to play in the half. Freshman
Emily Bouaphanh, Junior
Kaitlyn Milison, Dahl and Yost all contributed on this run for Dominican.
-Milison and Bouaphanh continued that momentum, collecting the next two baskets before Edgewood made it a 28-25 score with 3:30 left to play.
-Junior
Lia Saunders had a big-time answer, hitting a three, assisted by Junior
Aya Deiri, that was then followed up by a Milison layup, making the score 33-25 in favor of the Stars.
-That would be the score going into the halftime break. Dominican shot 2-3 from three in the second and was led by Milison who had 10 points at half, 7 of them in the quarter.
-DU held Edgewood to just 6 points in the second, while scoring 20 of their own.
-The Stars once again started on fire, earning back-to-back buckets to open the half. One by Sophomore
Allannah Jackson and the other by Saunders.
-The Eagles made it a one-possession game, though, with just over 4 minutes to play, after an 11-2 run. Making the score 39-36.
-Both teams would trade buckets for the remaining time of the third quarter, making the score 45-41 in favor of the Stars heading to the final quarter.
-In the fourth, it was Edgewood who started off hot, scoring the first 7 points in the quarter, and taking a 48-45 lead from there.
-The schools tightened up on the defensive side for the remainder of the game, with both teams shooting under 31% from the floor in the final quarter.
-Yost gave Dominican the lead with a three, making the score 52-50 with 2:43 to play.
-The Eagles tied the game up at 52 on their next possession.
-The score remained 52-52 until the final 10 seconds of the game when the Freshman
Kennedy Yost knocked down the game-winning 3 with three seconds remaining.
-Dominican prevailed in a defensive battle, holding Edgewood to just 52 points and 35% shooting in the game.

Kennedy Yost earned Star of the Game with her 19-point performance. Yost also collected 3 steals, 3 assists, and 4 rebounds, while shooting 3-6 from downtown.

Kaitlyn Milison was a factor on the inside with 11 points and 8 rebounds.

Lia Saunders has continued to roll for this Dominican squad, collecting 10 points, 1 steal, 2 blocks, 2 assists, and 4 rebounds.
