River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Women's Basketball team hosted the Scarlet Hawks of Illinois Tech on National Girls and Women in Sports Day and Cancer Awareness Night inside the Igini Sports Forum.

How it Happened:
-Sophomore
Allannah Jackson got the scoring going for the Stars, scoring on their first possession of the game.
-The Scarlet Hawks then went on a 5-0 run to make the score 5-2 with four minutes gone in the first quarter.
-DU came storming back with a 5-2 run of their own, with Jackson and freshman
Kennedy Yost scoring all the points.
-Dominican carried this momentum to make the score 15-10 at the end of the first quarter. Junior
Aya Deiri and Yost had 5 points. Jackson earned 4 points, making up 14 of the 15 points scored in the first quarter.
- The Stars scored the first 9 points in the second quarter, building a 24-10 lead with 5 minutes remaining in the half. Junior
Teagan Dahl scored 5 of those 9 points.
-Illinois Tech pushed the score back to striking distance in the final five minutes of the second quarter, making the score 28-20 at the break.
-DU held Illinois Tech to 21% shooting from the floor in the first half and just 20 points.
- The Stars started off the second half hot, scoring the first 6 points, with Deiri, Yost, and Dahl all earning buckets.
-The low-scoring third quarter only saw a combined 14 points, with Dahl scoring 5 of the 9 points for Dominican.
-The fourth quarter turned the game around, with 7 points scored before a minute even came off the clock. 5 of those points were by the Scarlet Hawks, making the score 39-30 with 9:04 to play.
-Illinois Tech kept the pressure on Dominican in the final quarter, staying within striking distance for the majority of the quarter.
- Sophomore
Allannah Jackson came up with her 7
th steal in the game that led to the layup that put the nail in the coffin for the Scarlet Hawks. Jackson's 7-steal game puts her name in the record book for the second time this year and makes her tied for first in single-game steals.

Allannah Jackson earned Star of the Game. Jackson continued to do everything correctly for the Stars, and that showed tonight with a stat line of 10 points, 9 rebounds, 7 steals, and 3 assists.
-Freshman
Kennedy Yost led the team in points with 12. Yost also earned 7 rebounds, 4 steals, and a block.
-Junior
Teagan Dahl earned a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
-Junior
Aya Deiri collected 7 points and 4 rebounds.
