Dominican Drops Road Contest to MSOE

Milwaukee, Wis. – The Dominican University Women's Basketball team traveled to the Milwaukee School of Engineering to take on the Raiders on Wednesday night.

 Results:
Dominican: 40
MSOE: 79

 How it Happened:
-After MSOE took an early 3-0 lead, Freshman Kennedy Yost knocked down a free throw to get the Stars on the board.
-An 8-0 Raider run was ended by a free throw by Junior Teagan Dahl.
-Junior Lia Saunders added a pair of free throws before the end of the first quarter, with DU trailing 19-4.
-After MSOE took a 21-4 lead, Junior Kaitlyn Milison made a pair of free throws to cut the Raider lead.
-Junior Olivia Genthner finished off a lay-up at the 3:46 mark of the second quarter, followed by DU's first three of the game by Freshman Xi Le O'Neill.
-Sophomore Allannah Jackson converted on a lay-up, and a three-pointer by Freshman Eva Herbig gave Dominican some momentum toward the end of the second.
-MSOE took a 40-17 lead into the break.
-The Stars battled out of the gate in the third, with Herbig and Junior Kaitlyn Milison knocking down shots.
-At the 4-minute mark of the third, Junior Lia Saunders scored five points in a row for Dominican, with the Stars trailing 52-29.
-The Raiders led 61-34 at the end of the third.
-Milison, Saunders, and Freshman Kennedy Yost all got on the scoresheet in the fourth.
-The Stars fell by a final score of 79-40.
-Dominican shot 33.3% from the field, 36.4% from three, and 60.0% from the line.
-18 separate Stars recorded at least a minute in the game.
 
 Shining Stars:
-Junior Kaitlyn Milison posted a team-high 11 points alongside 2 rebounds and a steal.
-Junior Lia Saunders notched 10 points, 2 rebounds, and a steal.
-Freshman Eva Herbig totaled 5 points and was 1-3 from deep.

 What's Next:
 Dominican University Women's Basketball moves to 6-7 on the 2025-2026 season and is 0-5 in NACC play. The Stars continue their road trip on Saturday, January 10th, for a matinee game against Marian. Tip-off against the Sabres is slated for 1:00 p.m.
