Men's Basketball Turns Attention to Benedictine

Lisle, Ill. – Dominican University Men's Basketball wraps up a three-game road swing at Benedictine on Wednesday night.

Series History vs. Benedictine:
All-Time Record / Streak: 8-27 / W1
-Dominican and Benedictine first played on 1/2/2008 in Lisle, Ill. (L, 63-62).
-The Stars took down the Eagles in their previous meeting this season on 12/6/2025 by a final score of 93-84.
-Sophomore Frank Paszkowski dropped 23 points and was 5-8 from deep.
-DU averages 66.8 points per game against the Eagles and is 2-16 on the road.

DU in Review:
-The Stars are 1-20 (1-13 NACC) on the 2025-2026 season.
-DU is 1-10 at home this campaign.
-Dominican closed the 2024-2025 season with an 8-17 record, including going 5-13 in conference and 5-8 at home.
-The Stars missed out on the NACC Tournament last season and are looking to make it back into the playoff picture for the first time since the 2021-2022 season.
-Head Coach Troy Tonsil enters his 3rd season at the helm of the Men's Basketball program at Dominican. Tonsil has amassed a career record of 18-32.

 
Last Time Out:
 -The Stars were outlasted on the road against Lakeland on Saturday, falling by a final score of 86-83.
 -Sophomore Frank Paszkowski led the Stars offensively, totaling 27 points and finished 6-9 from downtown.
-Sophomore Braydon Murphy posted his 6th double-double and third straight with 16 points and 15 rebounds.
-Junior Dean O'Brien notched 10 points and 6 rebounds.

Shining Stars:
-Sophomore Braydon Murphy is averaging almost a double-double this season, leading the team in rebounds per game with 9.1, and is 4th in points per game with 12.5. Murphy also leads DU in blocks with 31 and is 2nd in assists with 39. The sophomore is leads the NACC in blocks and is 3rd in the conference in rebounds per game.
-Freshman Elijah Daugherty has provided a spark off the bench for Dominican this season. Daugherty is averaging 13.4 points per game and is shooting .405 from the field.
-Sophomore Frank Paszkowski leads the Stars in three-pointers made with 65 and is shooting .355 behind the arc while dropping 15.7 points per game. Paszkowski leads the conference in three-pointers made.
-Sophomore Ismael Ndiaye Matheu has paced the Stars in playmaking, tallying a team-high 40 assists on the season.
-Senior Adrian Pelszynski rounds out the top five in scoring for DU, dropping an average of 8.4 points per game.

Familiar Faces:
-Senior Dominic Crapia enters his 4th season as a reliable 3-point shooter for the Stars. Crapia shot .359 from beyond the arc in 2024-25 and is in the joint lead in returners with 28 3-pointers made.
-Sophomore Lucas Underwood had a successful start to his collegiate career last campaign, averaging 5.6 points per game and had 28 3-pointers made.
-Senior Adrian Pelszynski will return as an integral part of Dominican's frontcourt. Pelszynski averaged 13.2 minutes per game last year alongside 4.5 points per game.
-Sophomore Braydon Murphy looks to improve upon a strong freshman season, as the center chipped in 2.7 points per game alongside 2.5 rebounds per game in a more limited role.  

Scouting Report:
-Benedictine is 7-14 (6-8 NACC) on the 2025-2026 season.
-The Eagles are 4-5 at home.
-BenU has dropped its last game against Marian but took down St. Norbert and CUC prior.
-The Eagles average 70.2 points per game, shoot .423 from the field, .307 from three, and average 35.4 rebounds per game
