Plymouth, Wis. – The Dominican University Men's Basketball team traveled to Lakeland to take on the Muskies on Saturday afternoon in a NACC showdown.

How it Happened:
-DU got off to a fast start, as Paszkowski scored five of Dominican's first seven points in an opening 7-0 run for the Stars.
-Sophomore
Braydon Murphy began to get to work in the paint, linking up with Paszkowski for a layup followed by Paszkowski's second three in the first half to give DU a 12-8 lead.
-At the midpoint of the first half, the Muskies knotted the score at 18-18, with Sophomore
Emmanuel Fuller and Junio
Dean O'Brien working down low.
-Freshman
Elijah Daugherty caught fire in the first half, scoring seven straight for Dominican, followed by an and-one for Paszkowski, ultimately putting the Stars ahead 32-29.
-Daugherty and Paszkowski continued to roll in the first half, as Dominican took a 41-40 lead into the break.
-To open the second half, O'Brien and Paszkowski connected from deep to give the Stars a 47-32 advantage.
-The DU lead grew to 54-44 after Murphy had a 2-2 trip to the line with fifteen minutes to play.
-Freshman
Joseph Jones joined in on the three-point scoring, pouring in one of his own to put the Stars up 61-50.
-Down the stretch, DU fought to keep Lakeland at bay, but the Stars' lead would shrink to two, 70-68, with six and a half to go.
-Free throw shooting became paramount in the final moments between Dominican and Lakeland, with Murphy and Daugherty cashing in from the line, followed by a game-tying three from Paszkowski at 80-80 with thirty seconds remaining.
-Despite a three-pointer by Daugherty with three seconds to go, the Stars still trailed by one and ultimately fell by a final score of 86-83.
-Dominican shot 44.4% from the field, 52.4% from three, and 84.2% from the line.
Shining Stars:
-Sophomore
Frank Paszkowski led the Stars offensively, totaling 27 points and was 6-9 from downtown.
-Sophomore
Braydon Murphy posted his 6
th double-double and third straight with 16 points and 15 rebounds.
-Freshman
Elijah Daugherty poured in 22 points and was 3-6 from deep.
-Junior
Dean O'Brien notched 10 points and 6 rebounds.

The Dominican University Men's Basketball team moves to 1-20 (1-13 NACC) on the season. The Stars close out their three-game road swing at Benedictine on Wednesday, February 11
