Rosemont, Ill. – The Dominican University Softball team was back in action for their second straight home series at the Stadium at the Parkway Bank Sports Complex hosting Benedictine University on Wednesday evening.
Results (Game 1):

How it Happened:
-Dominican did not wait around and got the scoring going in the bottom of the first inning. Senior
Paytin Salfi got the first hit of the game for the Stars and came home on an RBI triple by Sophomore
Raegyn Davis. Senior
Ryley Davis brought home her little sister on a single to the second baseman.
-Sophomore starting pitcher
Hannah Richards was rolling, not allowing a hit in the first three innings.
-DU tacked on another run in the third with Ry. Davis following up her little sister hitting an RBI triple, once again bringing home Salfi who walked earlier in the inning.
-Richards allowed the first hit of the game for BenU in the top of the 5
th inning, but nothing more after a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning.
-The Stars did not take their foot off the gas, adding three runs in the bottom of the 6
th inning. Sophomores
Madisen Butler and
Kayla Amormino each reached base, which set up an RBI double by Sophomore
Isabella Olmos, scoring Freshman
Adison Hasse who ran for Butler and Amormino. Ry. Davis continued her incredible game one, hitting a single to right field, scoring Olmos for the third run of the inning.
-Richards finished the game up and earned her 10
th win of the season and 5
th complete game. Richards stranded a runner on first base to end the game.
Shining Stars:
-Sophomore
Hannah Richards earned Star of the Game, going 7 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts and improving her record to 10-4 as a starter for the Stars.
-Senior
Ryley Davis has continued to be a rock for the Stars going 3-3 with 3 RBIs, a walk, and a triple.
-Sophomore
Raegyn Davis has been incredible in the three-hole, going 2-3 with a walk, an RBI, a run scored, and a triple.
-Sophomore
Isabella Olmos went 1-4 with 2 RBIs, a run scored and a double.
-Senior
Paytin Salfi went 1-3 with a walk and 2 runs scored.

How it Happened:
-Game two had a different script than game one. Dominican did not get their first hit of the game until the bottom of the third inning when sophomore
Madisen Butler hit a single right back up the middle. Sophomore
Isabella Olmos followed it up with a double down the left field line, but the Stars stranded runners on second and third in the inning.
-Junior
Liberty Rivard started in the circle for the Stars and only allowed one hit through the first four innings of the game and kept DU step for step against the Eagles.
- Butler got Dominican on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth inning with a double to center field that scored Freshman
Charlie Harris from second base.
-The Stars got a big insurance run on a sacrifice fly by Senior
Ryley Davis, scoring Freshman
Adison Hasse.
-Rivard got the ball to start the top of the 7
th inning and got the first two outs, but having two BenU runners on base, the Stars turned the ball over to Sophomore
Hannah Richards, who came into the game to get the final out of the game and did just that on four pitches.
Shining Stars:
-Junior
Liberty Rivard earned Star of the Game, throwing 6.2 innings, not allowing a run, and picking up a strikeout.
-Sophomore
Hannah Richards earned her first career collegiate save.
-Sophomore
Madisen Butler went 2-2 with an RBI.
-Senior
Ryley Davis brought home a run on a sacrifice fly.

What's Next:
Dominican University Softball moves to 20-12 on the season and 14-4 in conference play. The Stars are now on top of the NACC standings and playing the second team in the conference tomorrow afternoon. DU Softball travels to Lakeland University on 4/23/2026 for a top-ranked conference battle. The first pitch between the Stars and the Muskies is set for 3:00 p.m.
