Lake Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University men's soccer team is ready to head up to Lake Forest to take on the Foresters of Lake Forest College on Saturday.

Series History vs. Lake Forest:
All-Time Record /Streak/: 6-1-1/L1
-The first time these two schools played was on September 16^th, 2002, at Lake Forest College and the Stars won 2-1.
-Dominican won the first 6 matchups and only conceded 4 goals in those first 6 games. DU scored 17 goals.
-The Foresters have gained some momentum in the series, tying in 2024 1-1 and beating the Stars at West Campus Field 2-1 last season.
-Dominican has scored a total of 19 goals against Lake Forest and an average of 2.38 goals per match.
-DU holds a record of 2-0-1 at Lake Forest.

DU in Review: 
-DUMSOC have won their first two matches of the season, making them 2-0-0 early on in the 2026 campaign.
-Dominican finished the 2025 season with a 7-8-4 record, including going 7-3-2 in the conference and 5-3-2 at home. 
-The Stars notched the fifth seed in the NACC Tournament and fell on the road at MSOE in the NACC quarterfinal matchup. 
-Head Coach Erick Baumann enters his 32nd season at the helm of the Dominican Men's Soccer program. Baumann has amassed an impressive 470-127-54 (.763) record in that time. Coach Baumann is coming off his first ever losing season as Dominican University men's soccer head coach. 
 
Familiar Faces: 
-Senior Tristen Banquil is back in a Stars kit for his senior season and is looking to make a last impact on the DUMSOC program. Banquil is coming off a season where he played and started in 17 matches while scoring 5 goals on 16 shots on goal in his 1257 minutes. 
-Junior Jonathan Almaguer returns to DU in his third season after having a great sophomore campaign. Almaguer played in 19 matches and started 14 of those matches, while registering 3 goals and 4 assists from the midfield. The junior is looking to improve for a third straight season. 
-Senior Ciaran Geraghty returns as a big part of the Stars backline. Geraghty started in 18 matches last season while marking 1620 minutes on the pitch. The senior from Scottsdale, AZ, also logged an assist with six shots over the course of the season. 
-Sophomore Enzo Cinque came on strong for Dominican as a key player off the bench and is looking to solidify a bigger role on this squad. Cinque scored 4 goals on 24 shots in his 18 matches played in his freshman year. 
-Sophomore Rogelio Cisneros stepped up when DU struggled on the offensive side of the ball, scoring 2 goals with 2 assists in his 13 matches played. 
-Sophomore Cody Leyba returns between the posts this upcoming season. Leyba started in 5 matches last season but played in 9. The sophomore made 21 saves and held a 7-1 record in his freshman season. 
 
Last Time Out: 
-The Stars buried two first-half goals to take a 2-1 win over the Prairie Fire of Knox College at West Campus Field.
-Senior Tristan Banquil earned Star of the Match and recorded his first goal of the season, which proved to be the game winner for the Stars while also logging an assist on the Cinque goal. Banquil had 6 shots, with 3 on target.  
-Sophomore Enzo Cinque scored his second of the season and played 80 minutes.   
-Freshman Cristian Garcia had two shots, with one being on target.  
-Junior Roberto Navarro Mercado was solid in the net, recording a career high of 7 saves.  

Scouting Report: 
-The Foresters are 1-3 to start their 2026 season and 1-0 on their home turf.
-Lake Forest played their first home match on September 9^th and beat NACC opponent Benedictine University 2-0.
-On the road LFC played Elmhurst, Puget Sound, and Pacific Lutheran. Losing in all three contests.
-Last season the Foresters were an incredible 19-2 overall with an 8-0 conference record. They also held down their home turf, going 11-0.
-Lake Forest won their conference tournament last season in dominating fashion by not conceding a goal. They beat Grinnell College to move on to the NCAA Tournament, where they lost to Luther College 4-1, and their season came to an end.
-LFC scored 51 goals last season, while their opponents only scored 13 on them. They fired a total of 329 shots on the year, and 162 of those were on target.
