Decatur, Ill. – The Dominican University Women's Volleyball team traveled to Decatur, Illinois, for day one of the Millikin Invite to face Franklin College.

How It Happened:
-Sophomore
Karolina Stonkus started the match with a kill for the Stars' to tie the set 2-2. The Grizzlies got a 10-2 lead after that.
-DU lost set one 25-12, Senior
Jaylynn Miller and Senior
Kathryn Ksiezak both collected 2 kills each.
-The Grizzlies started the set 7-0, Dominican got on the board thanks to a kill from Stonkus. The Stars were fighting back, bringing the score 9-6 from back-to-back kills by Senior
Jillian Ross and another kill from Miller.
-Stonkus and Ksiezak each had another kill in attempt to get their team some momentum but it wasn't enough.
-Franklin got the set two win with a score of 25-12.
-Dominican got the lead for the first time in the match with 2 service aces by Stonkus. The Grizzlies took the lead back.
-Freshman
Kaitlyn Stanek picked up her second kill of the match followed by another kill by Miller, but the Grizzlies held strong to win set three, 25-15.
Shining Stars:
-Senior
Jaylynn Miller led her team with 4 kills in the match
-Sophomore
Karolina Stonkus was clutch all around for her team. Stonkus had 3 kills, 5 assists and 3 service aces.
-Senior
Lily Broderick had 7 digs.
-Freshman
Gracelynn Perry collected 4 digs

Dominican University Women's Volleyball falls to 0-7 on the season. The Stars will be back in action tomorrow for day two of the Millikin Invite. The Stars look to face Ohio Northern at 12:00 p.m. and Millikin at 2:00 p.m.
