Rockford, Ill. – The Dominican University Men's Soccer team is ready to gain some steam as they are unbeaten in their first two conference matches and look to keep rolling into Rockford on Wednesday.

Series History vs. Rockford:
All-Time Record /Streak/: 22-0/W22
-The first time these two schools played was on October 3^rd, 2002, at Rockford University, the Stars won 6-0 in the match.
-Dominican has only conceded three goals in all 22 matches against the Regents.
-DU scored 122 goals and averaged 5.55 goals a match against RU.
-The Stars are 10-0 at Rockford.
-Last season Dominican won 4-1 at West Campus Field and earned 27 shots in the match.
-DU's biggest win against Rockford was on 10/15/2014 when they won 11-0.

-DUMSOC holds a 3-1-1 record so far in the 2026 season, with a 1-0-1 conference record.
-Dominican finished the 2025 season with a 7-8-4 record, including going 7-3-2 in the conference and 5-3-2 at home. 
-The Stars notched the fifth seed in the NACC Tournament and fell on the road at MSOE in the NACC quarterfinal matchup. 
-Head Coach Erick Baumann enters his 32nd season at the helm of the Dominican Men's Soccer program. Baumann has amassed an impressive 470-127-54 (.763) record in that time. Coach Baumann is coming off his first ever losing season as Dominican University men's soccer head coach. 
 
Familiar Faces: 
-Senior Tristen Banquil is back in a Stars kit for his senior season and is looking to make a last impact on the DUMSOC program. Banquil is coming off a season where he played and started in 17 matches while scoring 5 goals on 16 shots on goal in his 1257 minutes. 
-Junior Jonathan Almaguer returns to DU in his third season after having a great sophomore campaign. Almaguer played in 19 matches and started 14 of those matches, while registering 3 goals and 4 assists from the midfield. The junior is looking to improve for a third straight season. 
-Senior Ciaran Geraghty returns as a big part of the Stars' backline. Geraghty started in 18 matches last season while marking 1620 minutes on the pitch. The senior from Scottsdale, AZ, also logged an assist with six shots over the course of the season. 
-Sophomore Enzo Cinque came on strong for Dominican as a key player off the bench and is looking to solidify a bigger role on this squad. Cinque scored 4 goals on 24 shots in his 18 matches played in his freshman year. 
-Sophomore Rogelio Cisneros stepped up when DU struggled on the offensive side of the ball, scoring 2 goals with 2 assists in his 13 matches played. 
-Sophomore Cody Leyba returns between the posts this upcoming season. Leyba started in 5 matches last season but played in 9. The sophomore made 21 saves and held a 7-1 record in his freshman season. 
 
Last Time Out: 
-Dominican earned a big win at Marian for their first conference win of the season, to the score of 3-0.
-Senior Tristan Banquil earned Star of the Match, Banquil had 1 goal on 7 shots. 2 of those shots were on target. Banquil played all 90 minutes of the game and had an assist.
-Graduate Cole Wood earned his first goal of the season, with 2 shots, 1 on target. Wood played all 90 minutes.
-Sophomore Eduardo Lopez had the third goal of the game, Lopez had 2 shots, with 1 being on target
-Junior Jonathan Almaguer had 2 shots with 2 on target.
-Freshman Christian Garcia recorded 2 shots with 2 on target.

Shining Stars:
-Senior Tristen Banquil will take this team where they need to go, as he is the motor of this team. Banquil on the year has 2 goals and 3 assists. Along with 21 shots and 9 of those being on target.
-Sophomore Eduardo Lopez has come on strong for this squad this season, collecting 2 goals and an assist. Lopez also has 5 shots, with 3 of those being on target.
-Sophomore Enzo Cinque picked up right where he left off after his freshman season, scoring 2 goals on 7 shots.
-Junior Jonathan Almaguer has played a big part in the middle of the pitch for the Stars and collected an assist with 8 shots, 3 of those finding the net.
-Freshman Alexander Julian Garcia has started 4 matches in the net for Dominican and has made 6 saves, only allowing 1 goal in his 270 minutes this season.
-Junior Roberto Navarro Mercado has made some big saves in net and has made 13 on the season in his 180 minutes played.
 
Scouting Report: 
-Rockford is 3-3-1 on the 2026 season and currently has lost back-to-back matches.
-The Regents are 0-1 in the conference, with that loss being to Concordia Chicago.
-RU is 1-3 in their last 4 matches, beating Maranatha Baptist 2-0 but losing to Illinois Wesleyan, Concordia Chicago, and Millikin University.
-Rockford started the season off 2-0-1, beating Knox and Waldorf. Drawing to Lawrence.
-The Regents have scored 13 goals this season while giving up 12 goals. They have 72 shots, with 39 of those shots being on target.
