Stars Fall at Saint Mary's

Notre Dame, IN. - The Dominican University Women's Volleyball team hit the road for their fourth road game of the season at Saint Mary's Indiana.

Match Results: 
Dominican: 0

How It Happened: 
-The Stars jumped out to an early 5-3 lead with Freshman Kaitlyn Stanek and Sophomore Olivia Pollak earning kills.
-The Belles stormed to a 14-7 lead after the early DU lead.
-Dominican tried to stay in the set, scoring 5 of 7 points, with Stanek and Pollak earning another kill. Along with Senior Kailee Diaz Randall earning a service ace and Senior Jillian Ross collecting a kill.
-DUWVB kept the momentum rolling at the end of the set with Junior Ella Murray and Sophomore Karolina Stonkus, each earning a kill, while Senior Jaylynn Miller added 2 kills. It was too late for the Stars, though, as they lost 25-17 in the first set.
-The Stars collected 9 kills in the first set.
-Saint Mary's jumped out to a 9-3 lead in the second set.
-Stanek tried to keep rolling in the match with back-to-back to kills before three straight points for SMC-IN to win the set 25-14.
-The Belles rolled to a 25-6 set three victory.
 
Shining Stars: 
-Junior Ella Murray led the squad with 5 kills.
-Senior Jaylynn Miller added 4 kills.
-Freshman Kaitlyn Stanek collected 4 kills and an assist.
-Senior Kailee Diaz Randall earned the only ace of the match while adding 5 digs.
-Freshman Gracelynn Perry led the team in Digs.
-Freshman Mawedda Abu-Shukhaidem had 9 assists and 5 digs.

What's Next: 
Dominican University Women's Volleyball falls to 0-10 on the season. The Stars will finally be inside the Igini Sports Forum for the first time this season on Thursday night. DUWVB will host MSOE in their first conference match of the season. The first serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
