River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Women's Volleyball team hosted conference opponent MSOE for their home opener inside the Igini Sports Forum.

How It Happened:
-After Dominican earned the first point on an attack error, MSOE rattled off 4 straight points to open the match.
-The Stars tried to come back with Seniors Katie Ksiezak and
Jaylynn Miller earning kills to make the score 11-7. This ignited a 9-2 Raiders run to give them a 20-9 lead in the first set.
-Sophomore
Olivia Pollak earned a kill late in the set, but it was too late as MSOE scored the final two points to win the set 25-12.
-After a set one loss, the Stars were fired up in the second set as Senior
Kailee Diaz Randall got DU out to a 4-1 lead, serving with the help of Ksiezak earning a kill and Pollak earning a kill.
-Dominican kept that momentum as Senior
Cassandra Thawley gave the Stars a 11-4 while she was serving. Senior
Jillian Ross and Sophomore
Karolina Stonkus each earned a kill. Miller chipped in with a kill, and Thawley added an ace on this run.
-The Raiders did not go away, though, as they earned a 5-0 run to make score 12-10 in favor of DU in the second set.
-Freshman
Kaitlyn Stanek tried to swing the momentum back on the Stars' bench after a kill from the middle of the court, but MSOE came within one point as they went on a 5-0 run directly after this kill.
-Pollak and Ksiezak each earned kills to give the Stars a 19-17 lead late in the second set, but the Raiders closed the set on an 8-0 run to win 25-19.
-This was Dominican's best set, as they earned 10 kills in the set.
-MSOE did not look back from here, as they won the third and final set 25-9. Ksiezak and Miller earned the only two kills in the set for DU.

-Senior Katie Ksiezak played well in tonight's match, earning 4 kills and a dig.
-Sophomore
Olivia Pollak collected 4 kills, 6 assists, and 4 digs.
-Senior
Jaylynn Miller earned 3 kills in the match.

Kaitlyn Stanek earned a solo block in the match while recording a kill.

Cassandra Thawley earned an ace, an assist, and 3 digs.

Gracelynn Perry led the team in digs with 9. She also collected an ace.

What's Next:
Dominican University Women's Volleyball falls to 0-11 on the season and starts the conference schedule at 0-1. The Stars will be right back in action this weekend as they travel to North Central College for a tri-match. DUWVB will play Ripon College and North Central during the tri-match. The first serve is set for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26
th, between Dominican and Ripon. The North Central match will follow directly after at 3:00 p.m.
