Naperville, Ill. – The Dominican University Women's Volleyball team traveled to North Central College for the NCC Tri-Match.
Match One Results:
Dominican: 0

How It Happened:
-DU got the lead in the first set of match one, 3-0 from a kill by Senior
Jaylynn Miller and Sophomore
Karolina Stonkus.
-The Red Hawks got the lead shortly after to an 12-7 lead and coasted to the end of the set, winning 25-10. Sophomore
Karolina Stonkus, Senior
Kathryn Ksiezak, and Junior
Ella Murray all earned 2 kills each.
-Dominican started set two with a 3-1 lead, with two points being from attack errors by Ripon and the third point coming from a kill by Stonkus.
-DU got the set to a one point set twice. Sophomore Olvia Pollak has timely kills making the score 8-7. Ripon had a kill to make the score 9-7 and then Pollak fired another kill to bring it back to one point. DU was unable to keep it close with Ripon taking the lead 19-11 and kept momentum going with the final score of set two being 25-15.
-Dominican started the set out 2-0 with back-to-back kills from Pollak and Senior
Jillian Ross. DU took the lead back after the Red Hawks tied it making it 4-2 thanks to a kill from Stonkus and a service ace from Sophomore
Taylor Lupton.
-The Stars were unable to keep the lead dropping set three, 25-9.
Shining Stars:
-Senior
Kathryn Ksiezak collected 5 kills on 17 attacks.
-Sophomore
Karolina Stonkus earned 5 kills with 8 assists.
-Junior
Ella Murray collected 4 kills in the match.
-Sophomore
Olivia Pollak collected 3 kills on 9 attacks while also having 6 assists and 5 digs.

Match Two Results:
Dominican: 0
North Central: 3
How it Happened:
-The Cardinals took the lead 3-1 but DU took it back from 2 NCC errors and a service ace from Freshman
Gracelynn Perry. The Stars were unable to keep the lead and dropped set one, 25-11. Stonkus collected 2 kills.
-Dominican started set two off strong with a kill from Freshman Angela Cueller. A kill from Ross extended the lead 6-4 with NCC then making the score 8-6.
- DU climbed back into the set with kills from Pollak and Murray. The Stars didn't give up being down 21-17, they got it to a one point set with two NCC service errors, a kill from Stonkus, and an NCC attack error. Stonkus collected two more kills but it wasn't enough to win the set. DU dropped set two 23-25.
-The Stars fell behind right away when the Red Hawks went on an 8-point roll. Stonkus broke their momentum with her kill. DU was able to get the score to 14-18 with Stonkus collecting her 8
th kill of the match.
-Dominican let the set slip and dropped set three, 18-25.
Shining Stars:
-Sophomore
Karolina Stonkus came through big for the stars collecting 8 kills and 5 assists.
-Junior
Ella Murray tallied 4 kills in the match.
-Senior
Jillian Ross collected a solo block and 2 kills on 8 attacks.
-Freshman
Gracelynn Perry picked up an ace and 7 digs.

What's Next:
Dominican University Women's Volleyball falls to 0-13 on the season. The Stars will head to Benedictine Univeristy for their first road conference match on Thursday, October 1
st. The first serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
