River Forest, Ill.—Senior Mackenzie Cuddihy of the Dominican University women's soccer team was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Women's Soccer Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week respectively for the week ending September 7^th.
 
Cuddihy, a senior center back from Las Vegas, Nevada, played and started in both matches this past week for the Stars. She held down the fort as the starting center back for Dominican in the two shutout victories from this past weekend. In the 5-0 win over Greenville, Mackenzie got on the score sheet from a goal from a free kick. The senior played in 149 minutes this past weekend and will be a staple for this DUWSOC defense all season long.

Head Coach Carlos Carrillo commented on Cuddihy winning NACC Defensive Player of the Week by saying, "Kenzie was a difference-maker for us in both of our matches this week. She anchored our back line with toughness, composure, and leadership, while also stepping up offensively with a goal. Her ability to defend at a high level and find ways to impact the game is exactly what we want from our center backs."

Cuddihy and the Dominican University Women's Soccer team will have their home opener this afternoon, as the Titans of Illinois Wesleyan come to West Campus Field for a 4:30 p.m. kick-off.
