River Forest, Ill. – Dominican University Men's Soccer hosted Knox College in a non-conference match Wednesday afternoon.

How It Happened:
-Sophomore Enzo Cinque recorded his 2nd goal of the season in the 16th minute.
-Dominican came out firing with Senior Tristan Banquil and Graduate Student Cole Wood, both having a shot in the 35th minute.
-In the 42nd minute, Banquil was able to connect and extended their lead to 2-0 going into the second half.
-Knox took a shot right away, which was saved by Junior Roberto Navarro Mercado.
-In the 54th minute, the Stars kept their lead and were able to keep Prairie Fire at bay after their 3 shots with one on goal.
-Navarro Mercado collected 2 more saves after back-to-back shots on target from the Prairie Fire.
-In the 62nd minute, Knox got on the board to make the score 2-1.
-The Stars defense shined in the late second half, with Navarro Mercado collecting 3 more saves. Freshman Cristian Garcia tried to get some insurance with a shot on target but was saved by the goalkeeper.
-Dominican clung on to the 2-1 advantage to win their second game of the season.
Shining Stars:
-Senior Tristan Banquil earned Star of the Match and recorded his first goal of the season, which proved to be the game winner for the Stars while also logging an assist on the Cinque goal. Banquil had 6 shots, with 3 on target.
-Sophomore Enzo Cinque scored his second of the season and played 80 minutes.
-Freshman Cristian Garcia had two shots, with one being on target.
-Junior Roberto Navarro Mercado was solid in the net, recording a career high of 7 saves.
