Baseball Doomed By Errors

Five errors led to six unearned runs as the Dominican University baseball team fell to Loras College 9-0 in non-conference action on Thursday evening.  The loss drops the Stars to 7-21 on the season while lifting the Duhawks to 14-16.

Casimir Zwiazek (Chicago, Ill.) took the loss for the Stars, allowing seven runs, just one earned, on six hits and two walks while striking out two over six innings of work.

Offensively, Dominican managed just three hits, including a pinch-hit single off the bat of Matthew Ortiz (Chicago, Ill.) in the bottom of the ninth.

The Stars will return to action on Saturday, traveling down Division Street to take on the Concordia University Chicago in a Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) doubleheader.  First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 PM in River Forest.
