The Dominican University men's tennis team fell 5-0 to the top-seeded Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons in the semifinals of the 2011 Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) Men's Tennis Team Tournament in Kohler, Wis., on Friday afternoon.
Kevin Amarantos (Arlington Heights, Ill.) and
Greg Tabaka (Chicago, Ill.) tried to squeak out a point at number one doubles play, but fell to the Falcons' number one doubles team, 9-7. The Stars also fell at number two and three doubles to fall into a 3-0 hole heading into singles play.
The Stars dropped the number five singles flight with
Efrain Rodriguez (Cicero, Ill.) falling to the Falcons Taylor Shaffer 6-1, 6-1 and then
Marco Colapietro (Norridge, Ill.) dropped his number four singles flight to Skip Turner 6-1, 6-3 to put the best of nine points match out of reach.
The Stars will remain in Kohler, Wis., to participate in the NAC Individual Championships Friday evening and into Saturday. Amarantos enters the singles play as the number two overall seed.
