On Sunday, April 29, the Dominican University softball team, along with hundreds of teams across the country, will participate in a “StrikeOut Cancer” softball game as part of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s initiative to help support the fight against cancer.
The Stars will host the Inferno of Alverno College in their final regular season doubleheader that day, and with a generous donation from the Park District of Forest Park, will hold a cookout with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. Fans will also be able to purchase pink “StrikeOut Cancer” t-shirts at the game, the same shirts that the Stars will sport during warm-ups.
Any questions about the event can be directed toward Nicole Kopacz, coordinator of athletics marketing and communication, at nkopacz@dom.edu or 708.524.5952. Those unable to attend can drop off their donations to Nicole in Power 138, or at one of the information tables that will be set up in the Lewis Lobby in the coming weeks.
