The Dominican University men's tennis team opened the 2013 Spring season on Sunday, traveling to Naperville to take on the North Central College Cardinals and the Webster University Gorloks in non-conference action. The Stars fell to the Gorloks 9-0 to start the day before Kevin Amarantos (Arlington Heights, Ill.) helped the Stars to two points in a 7-2 loss to the Cardinals.

Amarantos teamed with Greg Tabaka (Chicago, Ill.) to knock off the Cardinals' number one doubles team 9-8. Amarantos then posted a singles win at number one singles, topping the Cardinals' Adam Ciccone 6-3, 6-1.

The Stars will be back in action on April 6, opening Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) play in Oak Park against Marian University and Edgewood College.
