Box Score 2 The Dominican University baseball team split a Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) doubleheader with the MSOE Raiders at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium on Monday afternoon topping the Raiders 6-5 in game one and before suffering a 12-3 loss in game two.
In game one the Stars’ bats were lead by
Adam Quinn (Libertyville, Ill.) who went 3-for-4 at the plate.
Joe Krasny (Berwyn, Ill.), came up clutch for the Stars, going 2-for-4 with a triple, and an RBI single in a three-run sixth for the Stars. Krasny also swiped his team-leading 13
th bag of the season in the winning effort.
Quinlan Milne Rojek (Minneapolis, Minn.) was strong in his fourth collegiate start. Milne Rojek tossed seven innings, only surrendering three runs on nine hits and one walk, and punched out six. Mline Rojek improved to 1-1 on the season while freshman
Ryan Hoff (Marengo, Ill.) came in to pick up his first collegiate save. Hoff pitched two innings, giving up two runs on four hits, and walked none.
Game two was a different ballgame as the Stars were outslugged by the Raiders 13 hits to six. The Stars also had four crucial errors.
Josh Venhuizen (Evergreen Park, Ill.) was slated with the loss, dropping to 0-2 on the season.
Josh Kundinger picked up the win for the Raiders. Kundinger pitched five innings, gave up three runs on five hits, struck out two, and walked three.
The Stars return to action at home on Thursday as they take on the IIT Scarlet Hawks. Game time is set for 3:00 PM. Live statistics and video will be available.
