The Dominican University men’s tennis team continued its grueling non-conference schedule on Sunday, falling to the Elmhurst College Bluejays 9-0.
Kevin Amarantos (Arlington Heights, Ill.) nearly pulled out a victory at number one singles, winning the first set 6-4 over the Bluejays’ Wil Jung before dropping set two 6-4 and the ten-point, tie-breaker third set 10-5. Amarantos also teamed with
Greg Tabaka (Chicago, Ill.) at number one doubles, nearly knocking off the Bluejays’ number one doubles team of Jung and Alex Harbert, 8-6.
The Stars, who dropped a pair of Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) duals on Saturday, fall to 3-10 on the season. Dominican returns to the courts on Saturday, April 27, hosting the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons and Lakeland College Muskies on the final day of regular season play in the NAC.
