The Dominican University men’s tennis team claimed the sixth and final spot in the 2013 Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) Tournament on Saturday with an 8-1 win over the visiting Lakeland College Muskies in the Stars’ final dual match of the 2012-2013 regular season on Saturday afternoon. The win came after the Stars fell to the NAC front-runners from Concordia University Wisconsin, 7-2, earlier in the day.
Greg Tabaka (Chicago, Ill.) was stellar for the Stars in the final home matches of the senior’s collegiate career, picking up a pair of singles wins and going 2-0 at number one doubles with teammate
Kevin Amarantos (Arlington Heights, Ill.). Tabaka heads into the NAC Tournament having gone 8-1 in NAC play at number two singles while him and Amarantos dropped just one match against a conference opponent at number one doubles.
The Stars, now 4-11 overall and 4-5 in NAC play, will travel to Aurora University to take on the Spartans in round one of the NAC Tournament on Tuesday, April 30.
